That's the same on my car in the UK? Indictate, start steering across, AP disengages but cruise control is still on. Then turn AP back on when about 75% over the lane, and AP completes the lane change, and recenters in the new lane. If you don't turn AP back on, CC remains active.
Might be my imagination but I think the CC accelerates a bit when changing lane, if you are under 70.

Is the included one, was really good in the 3 lanes of traffic all moving at the same'ish speed this morning. Less so if you have to change lanes to overtake slower traffic as it disengages then. Almost looking forward to the traffic jam on the way home to give it another try :-)

Smart summon is almost useless unless you use a second phone hack (no idea if that still works or will remain working), limited to Bluetooth range and about 6 metres total distance?
Lane changes have to be completed in an arbitrarily short period of time (single digit seconds) or it has to abort - per UNECE rules.
Self park works, as far as I know, but not sure I’d trust the car to park if I had a M3P with those low profile tyres. I imagine I’d probably do it a lot faster manually too.
It’s mostly party tricks over here really, with the exception of AP staying on after lane changes.

eh that sounds st
Yup. Imagine having to be within Bluetooth range of the car to get it to drive to you. You’d have to walk up to it, stop walking when you’re in range, and then get it to drive 6 meters to you instead of just walking that extra distance, which would take a fraction of the time as actually summoning it.Utterly pointless.

I guess if you were really really tired?Utterly pointless.
Or the car was blocked in and it was easier to summon it out of the space...
Yup, that’s an actual practical use. I personally wouldn’t park the car in such a tight space that I would need to summon it out, for the simple reason that if it’s that tight then whoever is next to it - on both sides - is going to hit the doors trying to get into their car.
Summoning out of a garage would be handy though.

Bloody long thread to read everything, so..
Any dealerships/contacts you guys recommend to try out a 3? I'm based in Nottingham.
I've never considered an EV until yesterday and just watched a few YT vids - I'm quite liking the thought of a Tesla M3 to use daily and replace my Cayenne V8d.
Any ideas of wait times for a car if I ordered this month?
Still have a bit of reading to do on this subject, but being a business owner I think an EV will work out cheaper than another 4x4 pick-up.
Would probably go for the base model in white. Wouldn't bother with the autopilot thing.
re the wall charger - does it have to be wired directly into the consumer box or will it just peg onto a normal socket I have in the garage? Just thinking about hiding the cabling to the consumer box around the external brickwork of the house.
Anything else I need to know, or a good place to read up on the Tesla M3?
Cheers

2-3 months I'd say.Phooey said:

Probably, particularly with 0% BIK on the cards in April.Phooey said:

The car comes with Autopilot as standard. "Full Self Driving" is the option.Phooey said:

Wired into the consumer unit. The car comes with a "granny charger" which plugs in to the mains, but it will be pretty slow to charge and depending on your electrics may trip it.Phooey said:

Presumably it will come with the "Granny" lead which plugs into a 13A socket and charges at 10A 2.5KW or so.re the wall charger - does it have to be wired directly into the consumer box or will it just peg onto a normal socket I have in the garage? For faster charging 7KW ish you will have to have a government sponsored "charger" put in or get a standard IEC 60309 32A socket put in and buy your own lead.
The "charger" just tells the car how much power to draw, it doesn't contain any power conversion electronics as such, just does the same as the lead.
