In the last month or so I have been having a lot of neighbours, people at work, random's in car parks and even a delivery driver yesterday asking me about the Tesla, what its like etc. They all seamed very positive about EVs (especially the 1.4p a mile) and many have said they are looking to move over. Its getting more attention than my RS's or AMG did even colleges kids seam to know about them. Go figure.
It’s called branding, the German car industry has a toxic one that reeks of emissions cheating and cartel behaviour. The Tesla has an image of the future, today and faster than anything else on the road. There is a video on YouTube of a drag race between a model 3 and an rs6 and tiff nedell is celebrating the fact that the rs6 powered past a Tesla. That shows how strong their brand now is.
I think generally people are becoming more and more aware of climate change. You’ve got the whole Greta thing, bags disappearing and chargers appearing at supermarkets, etc. My local Tesco has a big Podpoint charger that serves 4 cars (think this is a nationwide thing now) conspicuously near the entrance, with EV only parking, you can’t miss it.
I think people are starting to seriously consider how an EV could replace their current car. They see more and more electric cars appearing and think “they must be practical for people” etc.
I’ve had more people coming up to me when I’ve parked the i3 asking how much it costs to fill up, how far it goes on a charge in the last few months than even the first 6 months of driving it.

My sons 16th birthday this weekend so went paint balling with him and a group of his friends (8 in all).
At the end of the day they had to draw straws for who would be have to come back in the i3 rather than the Tesla as wouldn't stop arguing about it.
I've never had so much positive attention and comment about a car in 25+ years of driving, they've done an amazing job of building the brands image amongst the general public without needing to advertise IME.

What colour combo as I’m still being told June
When did you order? Ordered direct? Finance?I was told to expect June delivery when I went on a test drive day. The guy said that Tesla we’re going to cease shipments until Q2, although he didn’t really give a logical reason. I was told May when I phoned to chase my order. Then on Saturday I got a hidden VIN so I’m presuming it will be end March now.
Basically, just keep checking for the hidden VIN. Everything else seems to be speculation.

I ordered in September and was told 2-3 months
It arrived after 3 weeks
It’s random, it’s Tesla
All well and good but costing a small fortune for a hire carIt arrived after 3 weeks
It’s random, it’s Tesla
Only bonus was getting a 2020MY car with grey rather than silver wheels.
