In the last month or so I have been having a lot of neighbours, people at work, random's in car parks and even a delivery driver yesterday asking me about the Tesla, what its like etc. They all seamed very positive about EVs (especially the 1.4p a mile) and many have said they are looking to move over. Its getting more attention than my RS's or AMG did even colleges kids seam to know about them. Go figure.

Its my experience too - but a different audience, its not petrol heads, its kids and non-car people that stare etc. A lot
I get the lot having the Performance model. Young kids pointing and shouting 'Tesla' as you drive past, petrolheads asking about the performance and how it is to drive, school run moms stopping me in supermarket car parks with their kids asking about the 'space car' and even OAP's interested in how much it costs to run.

Genuinely taken me by surprise and at times can be a bit annoying when you're just trying to go about your day. smile

Yep, just ask any "news" site what spouts more interest :an article about the newest M5/AMG E63 or about anything Tesla related.

I mentioned it before as well, of any car I have had, none had so many looks /pointing and straight up people coming to talk to me about it.

Deprecation is looking better than expected in the US for model 3? Not sure if this translates to UK lease market or not? Hopefully the Y will bomb!

Hopefully they've depreciated sufficiently by Jan 2022 when my Leaf lease ends so I can pick up a 2 year old one for a decent price...!

Selling your BEV in the future isn't going to be about whether you've got a FSH or not.

Everyone will want to see your BDR winkbiggrin

You can see how much Tesla think they'll be worth by going on their website.

Standard Range Model 3
£22,320 - 2 years 20,000 miles
£18,667 - 3 years 30,000 miles
£15,997 - 4 years 40,000 miles

Long Range Model 3
£26,320 - 2 years 20,000 miles
£23,538 - 3 years 30,000 miles
£20,258 - 4 years 40,000 miles

Performance Model 3
£30,098 - 2 years 20,000 miles
£26,857 - 3 years 30,000 miles
£23,152 - 4 years 40,000 miles.

Personally I think those residuals are a little on the conservative side. a 3 year old Performance with 30k for £27k would be a very good buy for a 2nd hand car.

Presumably the lease companies are working off residuals similar to those Tesla are predicting.

£16k after 4 years will be an insane bargain

Cheapest Model 3 perf on autotrader is £53k, which is a white, so over list price.

Hard to say if they’re moving though. Asking price is not necessarily indicative of sale price.

That being said demand is clearly outstripping supply, and new orders are showing May onwards now. Inventory cars disappear very soon after appearing etc.

I'm assuming you have situations where buying a lightly used 3 over list saves you on BIk etc more than waiting for a new one?

Though thats only what 2 months of tax potentially now
