Yep sorry, that's 240 miles in total!

120 there and back.

I could have stopped in Telford to supercharge however decided not to and made it home with no worries.

Thought I'd jump in at the deep end and see how accurate it was!

Just re read your post. Perhaps your'e saying the distance for the journey was 120 miles there AND also 120 miles back, which would equal 240 miles travelled with 66 in reserve?

If so, that's impressively accurate.
It's a bit smarter than your fuel gauge.

I believe it's able to calculate based off the gradients it's going up and down.

I’m assuming you have a long range or performance model?

Would you mind sharing the sort of speeds/roads ie 50/60 limits or more dual carriageway etc? I ask as I’d read reports of 240 being more like it, at a genuine 300+ that’s superb. Cheers

Performance without the 'Pack'. It's not available to order now however its essentially a long rage with the better acceleration (3.2) and track mode etc.

Route there was M6, M54, A5, A458, A470 and A496 and in reverse on the way back.

I started using autopilot where possible on the motorways however the other half was moaning about slowing down behind lorries (no FSD so no auto lane changes) so drove the rest of the way under manual controls. 70-80 on the motorways and the roads were NSL with some overtaking where needed.

Overall a good combination of stuff and some good down hills to make full use of the regen braking.

I guess with a Model 3 you don't get the same one on the dash (as you don't have a dash), not sure what you see on the big screen bit on the MS and MX its totally dumb, no more than the available battery capacity divided by a fixed number. When using the sat nav as it knows where you're going it does tend to be much smarter but thats usually a specific trip display

300 miles from a charge sounds a lot

300 miles on the long range 3 seems to be totally possible if you look at the USA forums, like it's not hypermiling, the car really is that efficient.

I recall claiming back approx. 3/4 miles in range twice when heading down some of the very, very step hills near to Barmouth.

Quite annoyed at having been told switching colour would only delay my allocated delivery date 2-3 weeks. Total bks
To be fair, there are plenty of reports of estimated delivery dates being missed without any changes having been made.

The reality is you'll only really know you're getting your car when you drive away in it. Anything before that is subject to change for all sorts of reasons Tesla will give.

Someone recently ordered a Model 3 on a Wednesday and picked it up on the Friday. No reservation, just presumably lucky to have got someone's postponed or cancelled delivery.

It's a complete lottery.

Wales isn't the most efficient place to drive, I've done a return from Telford to Dolgellau and it was doeable in my previous MS 90D but not massively so, that said I started at 90% had a few stop starts in the area once there.

Especially with those roads!

It was good fun and whilst I was aware of my range, I certainly didn't drive like a daisy.

I ordered my model 3 a couple of weeks ago and will be happy with any delays, preferably as close to April as possible wink

That's exactly what I have coming. I figure it’s all the performance of the err, performance, but better ride due to 18s with fatter sidewalls and better range due to the aero wheels. Obviously it’s a discontinued model now , but I also like the stealthiness of it. And as I won’t ever be taking it on track the red brakes of the upgrade / now included are merely bling. Talking of bling, does it have the red line at the back under Dual Range

How are you getting on with it? And did it come on decent tyres eg Michelin pilot sports?

Cheers

Enjoying it so far, no issues to report bar a few paint issues. Make sure you spend time checking the paint! That appears to be the biggest issue for cars at the moment, I don't think the Tesla paint shop can cope with the production line.

The performance is just bonkers.

Yes Pilot Sport 4s are on mine and yes it has the red line under the badge wink

I also have track mode enabled on mine which I guess is the default for P- cars.

Like you the range and performance made the P- the ideal setup for me.

Cheers good to hear. Can’t wait to get it, hopefully next week. It’s replacing an X5M which is not exactly short of torque but I think the P- will be more fun and feel quicker. In fact it’s conceptually similar - 4wd, fast, quite practical, big glass roof, lots of gadgets, quite discreet.

Just quite a few £k a year cheaper to run

Nope, it's enabled and I have turned it on a couple of times.

I thought track mode was for cars with the 'Performance Pack' however at the moment I certainly have access to it.

Might be removed in a future update from Tesla?

Interesting. I'm waiting on a P- from EVEZY also and didn't realise it still comes on PS4's, thought that was only for the 20" wheels in the PUP.

Spec's do seem completely random. smile
