Yikes. And they pulled he FSD too (though the CNBC article says it was a perk). Nice. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/15/tesla-fired-employ...
For someone who is all for freedom of speech, Tesla seems to like suppressing things, hiding the truth and concealing crappy behavior. Wow, nice job.
What is disappointing is that the US and California both have anti retaliation laws, the Californian one is pretty strict too. But if he broke a condition of employment, there isn’t much he can do. Now if it’s not in writing though, I am sure he’s getting calls from lawyers constantly.

Almost seems like you’re a little desperate after all you’ve lost hundreds of thousands on TSLA so far this year. Must sting a bit.
Really stinging at the moment. off_again said:

Ouch.
To be fair, everyone is taking a bath at the moment.Ouch.
What is confusing though - if oil prices are all over the place, shouldnt there be a better demand on those manufacturers that are EV exclusive? I know, I am taking a very complex situation and boiling it down to something very simple....
There’s a whole lot of uncertainty across markets right now and all this green talk could be blamed for some of that arguably.
I can see a lot of the pledges being pushed back, changed or dropped as the governments realise how much of a stretch it all is. None of this helps the ev manufactures.
Meanwhile new car sales aren’t doing great either, prices are rocketing. So manufacturers will have less r&d money.
They need to move units! But that in itself is bad for the environment.
It’s one hot mess all of this

Tesla Shanghai factory shut down extended to at least April 3rd given Corona lock down imposed.
Factory has been shut since 28th. No vehicle movements or deliveries allowed.
Thankfully the shut down occurred at the end of quarter and will have limited impact on Q1 numbers.

(Tesla) Shanghai remains locked down with no end date offered by authorities. Tesla factory produces 2,200 cars per day at this facility.

78k a tonne is surely a bubble price which will revert to mean in the medium term.
Pumping the idea of Tesla getting into extraction is IMHO a hype narrative to suggest Tesla can magically make the high raw material cost problem go away, and not that it will absolutely shag profitability for the sector.

Perhaps the robots, fitted with AI can mine it? Guided there by FSD? Ferry it back on a Hyperloop?Pumping the idea of Tesla getting into extraction is IMHO a hype narrative to suggest Tesla can magically make the high raw material cost problem go away, and not that it will absolutely shag profitability for the sector.
Elon has decided he doesn’t want to be on the Twitter board despite being asked (BBC journalist suggesting because it would mean having to behave like a responsible board member), and then spent the day tweeting childish polls and comments about Twitter, then deleting them.
Grown up behaviour.
Can’t find the link right now, but on BBC Tech page.
edit; haven’t been back to BBC, but here’s same story and quotes on Reuters

Elon wants to buy Twitter, now:

Effectively says it would be "better" under him, but doesn't say how or why.
I'm guessing that's him personally, rather than Tesla.....???
