Just how bad is the ride in the Y?
Our current Touareg Black Edition has air suspension and is fantastically comfortable so it does put me off thinking about a Y via salary sacrifice

Seeing these absolutely everywhere. Did they have 1000’s ready built to deliver?

Went out in my friends the other day. Ride to me is fine in the Y, Sporty but not crashy. Wont be the same as the Touareg, that's designed to be a big comfy car. Bigger issue might be road noise if you are used to it being quite quiet, the cabin is a little boomy.

I think we both had an S5 around the same time, the good old days, and if you are used to S-Line's, M-Sport's etc then you won't understand what all the fuss is about.

I have the 20's on my Y which is meant to have the harshest ride but it doesn't feel that way to me. It won't come close to your Touareg air suspension though lol

Yeah lol literally. It's how they operate. Build loads and then match them up to customer orders.

My understanding is that they need to fill a container ship to make it worth their while so yes would be my guess.

I watched a Youtube video yesterday where they stated Model Y's from the new factory are leaving every 90 seconds! Ye Gods there will be plenty of them everywhere now biglaugh

Thanks for the ride comments. Yes mate the S5 days! Still haunts me not buying that car. I did snag the cheap 840 deal though.
Able to extend the Touareg for another year at a lower price (£329!) so off the car hunt for the wife for the time being. Be interesting to keep reading this thread and see what the experiences are.

I keep seeing reports of huge waiting lists. Does anyone know the current lead times for both the 3 and Y?

Cheers.

They’re telling me end of Q2. Will believe it when I see it.
The lease supplier may well have inventory pre ordered.

Various US forums suggesting that tesla are prioritising orders with costly options.

Tesla's are built in batches, not to order, so it depends what batches they want to build and how popular is that batch's combination.

Built to order is a feature other OEMs implement to justify their options lists, for which they obviously charge.

This is nice for the dealer, but costs more and if improperly managed, a logistical nightmare.

So the order time will be a function of the options you want and the desirability of that combination.

Should Tesla wish to prioritise those paying for cost options, that is their choice.

Ordered a Model Y AWD Long Range on Saturday morning. At that time the configurator was saying delivery in September. My account today says June 05 - Jun 30. I think this is based on the Shanghai factory starting back up but I still think it'll be nearer September when I see the car. Still a hell of a lot better than Skoda for delivery times!

Cheers all. It's not easy to get leases to coincide at the moment.

We test driven the 3 and the Y for an hour each, back to back test.
The Y is definitely heavier, and it feels it.
To be honest, it's just an overgrown 3.
Sure, higher up, the roof bar is not there, but not really not much difference.
