Lease prices seem to have gone up.

I'm paying just under £22000 (19800 plus 10% reclaimable vat) over 3 years £6k miles, free charger, £50 ovo credit and a free years insurance through vanarama. No servicing required so didn't bother with maintenance.

If it were salary sacrifice it would work out at £7300 ish gross salary sacrificed / £610 a month gross, or £407 from net monthly pay as a 20% tax payer, and then £20ish tax on top.

yeh so the salary sacrifices add onto that lease figure all the other st.

their insurance is really expensive, basically they make it just cheaper than getting it elsewhere after the tax deduction.

Mine at 12k miles for 3 years is ~£510 post tax. I thought that was punchy, but man maths made it work.
I guess the 'man maths' tells you £510 - £300ish (in our case) petrol means that it's actually costing you £210 a month.... bargain! thumbup

Man maths says “drop from 3 cars to 2, one of those cars being a 12 year old complex thing with air suspension and a £600+ tax bill every year”

Unfortunately I already drive an electric to work, so the spreadsheet was a bit less compelling.

I am back looking seriously at this as my lease car is due back next month. The disappointing thing is, the lease deals dont seem much better even after the price drops. Anyone else seen this ?

The lease prices were also very good pre-drop due to the stock being cleared so there isn't much difference after the price drops.

I'm waiting on delivery and I spoke to the broker last week about an expected drop in my lease cost. He said it was a nightmare, first they dropped and then consideration was given to residuals. Lease costs now appear to be 10% higher. I'd imagine they're all thinking about a price war with the Chinese.

I got the below from Octopus:

Hi chris,

We've got some great news for you! As you’ve probably heard, Tesla decreased their prices across all models last Friday.

This means your monthly payments will be cheaper, and with no impact to your delivery date.

Better yet, there’s nothing we need you to do for now.

We’re working with all our Tesla customers and we’ll be in touch over the next couple of weeks in plenty of time for your delivery for you to sign your new quote reflecting the cheaper price.

If you want to read more about the price decrease here is a useful article.

Of course, if you have any questions just reply to this email and we’ll be happy to help.

All the best,

It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks, as it appears they all jumped the gun.

What do you mean? Are prices going back up again?

They already appear to be up according to Leaseloco. A few cheap ones, but I doubt they're correct. Everyone else is showing 5-10% more than a few weeks ago.

I just signed up for a 2 year lease on MY RWD on the following deal. This was the best I could find and buying the car doesn’t suit us just now.

Initial Rental: £ 4,368.06
Monthly Rental: £ 485.34
Total Amount Payable: £ 15,764.88
