Teslas are rubbish in the snow, until you find dynotest mode
I haven’t tried slip start yet but according to this video Dynotest mode doesn’t allow you to drive it on the road and it goes into limp mode if you do try.https://youtu.be/CUJPcjgpczE
Old thread I know-
But I tried being an idiot in a snow-packed car park in my 3 LR and I couldn't do anything irresponsible. It just reigned everything back in and plodded around in a slow circle.
If you hit 'Slip Start' mode and try again it will allow a degree of hooliganism. But it's really un-nerving; in a petrol car you would have noise associated with revs and know when the visual speed outside the window wasn't corresponding with the engine speed - so traction was lost. In an EV you're none the wiser!
Great fun, but really odd.

Ah well - if we’re posting on old thread…
I live in Highland Perthshire and have swapped my Disco 4 for a Tesla Model Y. I’ve had shed loads of Land Rovers (1 Range Rover, 3 Discos and 4 Defenders) and also currently have a Defender Td5. During the snow mid December I drove the Model Y up to some friends who live up in the hills up a rough track behind us thinking it would be a ‘mare. It was a piece of cake. No hesitation at all and as good as the Disco 4. The Disco was on ATs and the Tesla is on whatever eco tyres it comes with - Hankook somethings. We then drove it up to Wester Ross and Sutherland for the weekend on ice rutted lethal roads with steep gradients. It lapped it all up. I’m seriously impressed. The only issue in deep snow would be ground clearance.

Did you get any trouble with regen causing sliding on the ice? I live in Highland Perthshire and have swapped my Disco 4 for a Tesla Model Y. BTW Tesla don't come with crap eco tyres normally, it should have decent Michelin Pilot Sport tyres from factory.
