Will a base Tesla model 3 be crap?

I can’t make my mind up between one of these or a pre-reg zoe. Zoe because it’s got 22kw ac charging which is useful when can’t find a 50kw. Additionally some of the places I park aren’t exactly 38k car friendly lol.
I wouldn't choose a Zoe ahead of a Model 3 on the off chance it might be easier to find a charger personally. Richyboy said:

To be fair to the Zoe, it is close to half the price of the Tesla, so it's down to whether you want a decent shopping trolley or a really, really good car.Richyboy said:

The 50kwh Zoe's have problems with their airbags, also you're limited to 50kw charging.Tesla M3 rwd is 170kw.
22kw chargers are fairly rare, most of the time you don't need it, on the move you want a rapid, at home it doesn't make any difference.

I assumed he was comparing new v new, so £28k v £38k for the cheapest cars available. Want a decent spec Zoe and it's closer to £32k v £38k. SWoll said:

There are literally hundreds of pre-reg Zoes on AutoTrader from £19k to £21k.
146 new 2023 Zoe's for sale according to AT, cheapest is £24k and 136 of them are £27.5k or more. £19-21k gets you a 1-2 year old used car with <10k miles as far as I can tell, and there are less than 100 cars in that price range also.

A decent looking deal if you can get your hands on one though I agree.

I see a brand new model 3 can now be had for £38k. This means they are starting to look a little bit tempting to me.
However will a base spec 3 be crap?
Will it be nice to drive?
Will it have plenty of kit?
Is the standard stereo decent?
Will the build quality be crap?
What will the true running and servicing costs be on 10-12k a year?
I test drive the Model 3 SR, Ioniq 5, EV6, Polestar 2 and ID.3 when I was looking for a replacement for our i3However will a base spec 3 be crap?

1. I found the Model 3 have better feedback than any of those except i3, but the model 3 does have a harsh ride among them.
2. You still got electric tail gate, power seat, power adjust steering, reverse camera, a pan roof, heated front seat as standard. Most of these are optional in other EV i have test drive
3. Not as good as the harman kardon in the BMW i have owned, I dont found it worse than any other stanard stereo in other car maker, but I am not into audio.
4. My 67 plate BMW have bigger panel gap than the MIC model 3. The MIC model 3 I found is just as well build as Korean EV
5. I just got my Model 3 for less than 3 months, no idea as they dont seem to have a fix service interval as other car maker (i3, EV6 still have annual service requirement and i3 serivce cost as much as my Mini Cooper S)
at this price point, you will find it hard to beat given the equipment as standard

There are a further 190 available at above £22.5k but I'm sure these will be negotiable.

The Tesla cannot have the words really and good when used to describe It’s mediocre at best, designed for California living and not anywhere near the standards required for Europe
Range is nowhere near advertised, software and safety updates following agile methodology is not ideal and the dealer support is pathetic

Never fails to amaze how much of an aspirational and premium brand that Tesla are frequently touted as being, or are perceived as .....It’s mediocre at best, designed for California living and not anywhere near the standards required for Europe

Their drivetrains and charging network are what make them an aspirational/premium product IME.

7 pre-registered 22 plate Zoe's between £19,995 and £21,995 That's not hundreds, or even plenty?

To be fair I think these cheap ones are before they changed the spec of the iconic which was the lowest spec. The latest Zoe has the iconic as the highest spec. A decent looking deal if you can get your hands on one though I agree.
My choice is between Zoe and m3 because of the front charging (rear boot access) or front boot and I have 22kw charging access for Zoe. Tesla is so desirable at 38k though, a quandary.
For that sort of money it's a no brainer, Tesla everytime.
It's a good car - irrespective of it's drive train - it's generally well put together with pretty good materials
I'll quantify this with the statement I now own a model Y which shares a lot of the model 3 innards
Will it have Audi or Volvo sweating in terms of build quality? No. But it kicks a ford or nissan in to next week.
It's quiet, handles decently and fair old shifts when you want it to. Plus the charging network is a massive plus point.
