Is the LR RWD worth the 4k odd premium over same SR (assuming they are identical in other respects) ?
Horses for courses I guess.
385 v 305 on the WLTP
So 4k for 80 miles, 20% extra distance in reality..
SR in blue is tempting me!
Will you use it in everyday driving?Horses for courses I guess.

Is it something you're going to use frequently throughout the year? e.g. 300+ mile drive once a month or once every 2 weeks.
If not, then unlikely.

The LR is recommended to only be charged to 80% (they used to say 90% but the latest software update has changed that) whereas the SR is a different battery that can be charged to 100% happily. So day to day they're more or less the same, the LR only really having the advantage on the odd day you decide to go beyond the recommended limit (which is fine so long as its not a daily thing). The LR will probably supercharge faster to 300 miles as thats a lower % than on the SRHorses for courses I guess.

Worth 4k? Probably not really unless you know you'll dip into the extra 20% regularily..

You can charge an LR to 100%, just don't leave it there for a sustained period of time.
e.g. if you're doing a trip of 250+miles, charge to 100% the night before.
If on a daily you're doing 25miles, charge when it is convenient for you, aim to keep it above 20%.
Don't charge it to 100% and not drive the car for 2 weeks.

It still says 90%.

Not on all models, some are now saying 80%. Try googling it. You can charge an LR to 100%, just don't leave it there for a sustained period of time.

They should change the default colour - the number of white company lease Tesla's on the road is very dull!
It's also not great at defeating the 'white goods' criticism when 90% of the mass produced cars are all literally identical spec and, specifically, white.
Mixing it up makes sense I think.

The only problem is the backlash from those who paid for whatever the free colour was just before they make the switch. I'm not sure whether white goods is supposed to be a criticism, but doing everything that's needed isn't a bad thing in my book (and yes, mine's white). It's also not great at defeating the 'white goods' criticism when 90% of the mass produced cars are all literally identical spec and, specifically, white.

I don't think they really care about backlash, knocking several grand off the list price, offrering free supercharging for a year and discounting inventory has been the track record recentlyGassing Station | Tesla | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
