I ordered a Model 3 RWD a week or so ago. There’s a nice bit of additional discount on the ex-demo cars with a handful of miles. They don’t stick around for long though. There’s a Telegram group that alerts when new inventory is added - https://t.me/teslauknewinventory

It’s also worth speaking to a showroom as they have access to inventory before it reaches the public site. That’s how I found the car I ordered. It’s done 1000 miles, and will have 6 months less warranty, but was £6k cheaper and came with more options.

Likewise using a referral link from a friend for £500 off your order.

Working out what a ‘partial premium’ interior means in 2023 is very confusing. It looks like the ‘base’ cars now get the better stereo with subwoofers.

Check insurance prices in advance too, they’re a bit silly for Teslas at the moment.
In the telegram group every car has around 6% interest whats the advantage over buying new on 0%?

The percentage listed in the Telegram messages is the discount percentage.

Any Model 3s listed in that group will be eligible for 0% finance, it extends to demo vehicles too. The Model Ys are not.

I’m going to order a Performance as soon as I can. Had an OG 2019 Model 3 Performance and it was an absolutely stonking overall package for they money. Was supposed to have a Model S Plaid coming, but seeing as that went tits up, this will be the next best thing.

There’s a fair bit of info out there online about what can be expected, but as ever it’s hard to tell how accurate it is. Info specific to the Performance is very thin on the ground though… hoping for a bit of that Plaid magic to make it across!

Since the Model S disappointment I’ve consumed pretty much every piece of Highland info I can’t find - to me it seems likely for an early Q4 launch, with first deliveries towards the middle or end of Q4.

They changed finance companies on Wednesday and Black Horse are being far more realistic with the GFV.
Not so sure realistic TBH
A SR, interest free payment over 4 years, 10k miles a year
Balloon payment 15k

I’d say it’ll be worth a fair bit more than that!
The cheapest 2019 3 on ebay with similar miles is 24k

So could be a good deal anyway as I’d be paying the balloon at the end to own.

But rumours are that the Highland will be better & cheaper !

perhaps that why the balloon deflated..

Think i’ll hold off

I collected my ex-demo Model 3 from the Park Royal showroom this morning. The ordering and collection process became a bit of a farce - demo vehicles seem to fall through the cracks at a number of stages, but I got there in the end. I haven't yet been able to find any indication that it has already covered 1000 miles, it was better prepped than a friend's brand new Model Y that came through a regular collection point.

For under-£40k with 0% finance, it's a very nice product. Amusingly, the base model of the woefully under-ranged e-C4 that I borrowed recently costs more on Citroen's current terms.

If you don't me asking, SR or LR? And what was the deal obtained?

SR, I was initially after a LR RWD but the more I read about the LFP battery in the SR the more it seemed like the better option for our usage.

If I’d waited longer I’d maybe have ordered this car instead…

https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/m3/order/LRW3240_a91ff...

It’s about £1700 more than I paid, but is effectively brand new with the latest reg and 6 months additional warranty. It doesn’t have 19” wheels but I’m ambivalent about them.

They do, it used to be fleet only but they released a glut of them into the inventory stock last month.

I'm still dithering, from what I've read on forums the LFP battery really under performs in colder weather over winter. The wonky wipers and dodgy park assist now the sensors are gone are giving me pause to wait for the refresh model too.

I'd be interested to know what you get real world in the winter months (totally accept this may not be an issue for you).

I've read mixed reports, in theory, the standard fit heat pump should offset some of that. I'll happily report back.

The wipers seem less wonky than a lot of auto wipers I've had from other brands. The lack of sensors/a proper forward camera is a bit annoying, it'll 'see' larger objects but won't alert you if you're driving up to bollards in a car park.

It’s more like a RWD STD range car with a bigger battery than a LR AWD with a only one motor, so a few bits are lower spec like the hifi in case it matters to anyone

Thanks, I guess you can mitigate most of the parking issues with the rear view camera. Enjoy the new toy!

That's where things get confusing. If you Google partial premium vs. premium interior you'll find lots of information from a few years ago about the stereo without subs and other differences. But if you ask an assistant in-store they'll tell you that the 2023 cars have no differences. Poking around the source code of the listing page for my car before I ordered I found an object listing the spec with the various option codes added, including this one...

"code": "$PRM30",
"description": "
Upgrade your interior with additional features and premium materials.
* Premium heated seating and cabin materials throughout, including open pore wood décor, glass roof and four USB ports
* 12-way power adjustable front seats, steering column and side mirrors, with custom driver profiles
* Premium audio system with more power, tweeters, surround speakers and subwoofer
",
"group": "PREMIUM_PACKAGE",
"long_name": "Partial Premium Interior",
"name": "Partial Premium Interior"

I haven't yet ripped the interior apart to check what's actually fitted, but it sounds like one of the better car stereos I've owned, no worse than the Harman Kardon in the MINI it's replacing.

My car doesn't have foglights, but did come with floor mats, heated rear seats and steering wheel etc. contradicting a lot of the information on sites like this... https://www.findmyelectric.com/blog/tesla-partial-...

Find my electric are ste - they tried to buy my website because they had no content, they then tried to copy it and embellish it but got lots of facts wrong and haven’t maintained it so it went stale quickly.

Anyway.. back to the LR RWD, it’a not listed as a custom order but if you look at the RWD spec, the changes in spec are

RWD gets “upgraded stereo with immersive sound” and front fog lights, whereas the LR AWD gets “ Premium audio – 13 speakers, 1 subwoofer, 2 amps, and immersive sound” and fog lights. Otherwise not much that I can see. Probably not worth worrying about too much but it’s a technical difference

Ah, so the LR RWD has a slightly lower spec (at least in stereo terms) to the SR RWD. Which probably makes sense in a product intended for the fleet market. Tesla trim levels a both refreshingly simple, but also quite confusing once you get down into the weeds.

European delivery dates for new orders have just been pushed back… regular cars now say Oct-Nov 2023, Performance Nov-Jan 2024. Presumably that’s when you can expect your Highland car.

Except, that is, for those in the UK and Ireland - those dates haven’t changed (Aug-Sep 2023). Hopefully just more inventory of current cars knocking about in RHD or something rather than more bad news for those who drive on the left!

Currently, on the 0% finance, the LR is £11 a month more expensive than the SR (in s colour/5k deposit/10k miles)
£481 v £470
Due to the LR higher value @ year 4
Quite tempting
