I would go as far to say ONLY GET A MADE IN CHINA Tesla.
Except you can't for the OPs Budget of £23k

Warranty goes with the car.

I am not an expert, but I'll have a go.

Refresh of the cabin, includes removing the gloss finish of the central console. Wireless charging pads redesigned. Heated steering wheel (on the later ones I think). Black door handles. Power lift on boot lid (again, I think, not sure). Were the front windows double glazed when previous ones were not? Wood door trims and top of dash.

Probably more efficient - but that's a guess.
Big thing was the heat pump / octovalve

RWD started to use LFP batteries

High mileage examples start from 21,500 although the general warranty will have lapsed on mileage grounds. The uk market is consolidated here

Ah yes, I forgot about that. Mine has the heat pump/valve, but I've never really understood what the difference is. It just came with it.

How often are software updates and are they done automatically? Also how long is the warranty and is it transferable?
It’s 4 years or 45k. 8 years for motor and battery.

You can get extended warranty for approx 1200 a year.

If considering an early one, I would try to test drive a used USA and new china (from Tesla?) back to back. You will certainly notice the difference but maybe for you the core experience is similar.

The USA builds are still great cars. I drive mine hard all the time. and no problems

Is it not 50k/4 yrs?

Agreed that not all USA builds are as bad as the internet says. Mine has not really been a problem either.

Well it was rather inevitable that would happen at some point.

You've only got 3000 miles left on the vehicle warranty on that too.

How do you tell where it was built?

The 11th digit in the VIN Number will tell you.

A = Austin, Texas
B = Berlin, Germany (Model Y's only at the moment)
C = Shanghai, China
F = Fremont, California
N = Reno, Nevada (which I believe is where the Semi's are assembled)

Out of interest, the 4th digit signifies the actual model: S, 3, X, Y

The 10th digit, the model year. For example:

N = 2022
P = 2023
R = 2024

And the 7th digit tells you which fuel type is being used. This might sound odd but:

E = Electric
F = Electric (Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery)

Given the number of 2021 built M3 LR models that were registered that year, safe to assume that you'll be able to pick up a decent average mile example for around £20k in 2024?

Howmanyleft.co.uk suggests around 22k cars registered in 2021 and assume most would be a 3 year lease..
