Agreed. Never got mine stuck in the snow (or my MK2). It helps that the weight is over the rear wheels so traction - if managed properly - shouldn't be an issue.

I had a 1985 square front bumper model from new. It was great fun but front end lift at fairly high speed was a worry.
mothballed it 22 years ago with 22000 miles on the clock. I'm about to start the clean-up process but I have a question.
Should I keep it entirely original or should I let loose and 'upgrade'? (The spare tyre has never been out of the car.)

Can anyone give me an idea of value. It was wax-oyled at new, and has no rust. is fine beige metallic (pasty gold).

I’d keep it original. The gold probably isn’t the most desirable colour, but it’s certainly rare. I’ve only seen one that colour before. No rust is a rarity on the mk1 now, and has been for 15 years or so really!

Value wise, you need to have a talk to the members on the MK1 club really. The MR2 never went up in value like, say, the AE86. However a low mileage MK1a will certainly get attention in the classifieds. There’s a Helios blue one for sale in similar condition at the moment on PH.
