. Anyone got any history of modifying on PCP. Can we do it?
Generally frowned upon but it’s likely to be looked at on a case by case thing. Eg if electric problem then an aftermarket exhaust is likely to be ignored. If claiming for a new engine or gearbox you might want to cross your fingersSDudders said:
In other news, if taken on PCP what do you reckon the odds are of us being allowed to mod this thing. I definitely would like to install an aftermarket exhaust system. Although I'd be worried of breaching warranty. Surely a stage 1 remap would void it but i wonder if an aftermarket exhaust would. Anyone got any history of modifying on PCP. Can we do it?
It’s a no no. Quite a well reported video of a “youtuber” who had his car repossessed for breach of contract due to publicising modifications. https://www.expressandstar.com/news/motors/2019/06...
BMW’s policy is for written consent plus you need to revert the car back to standard when returning so you’d need somewhere to store all the parts for the period of your PCP.

Ricky did actually keep the car in the end-think he just paid the PCP off thoughhttps://www.expressandstar.com/news/motors/2019/06...

Thanks for the info! I guess each car manufacture has different views on it. I found this posted on a GT86 forum... they were using Access Toyota PCPhttps://www.expressandstar.com/news/motors/2019/06...

"Mods are allowed on a [my] Access Toyota contract, but if you return the car at the end of the term the car must be stock or you have to pay for 'repairs' to get it back to standard, which are probably more than aftermarket parts anyway. The mods only affect your warranty and insurance. Declare all mods to your insurance, always"
Might just be worth me asking the question direct to Toyota Financial Services and see what their T&C's are. Or ask my dealer directly.
My old Mercedes on PCP I wasn't able to mod without permission/ approval. Although my mate was allowed to mod his Audi on PCP. So long as he returned it to stock. So I think every car manufacture is different.
I'll find out from toyota and let you guys know.

I can see my self doing an exhaust and an airbox. I'm really keen to see what the usual suspects in Japan(HKS, ARC, Greddy, Kakimoto) offer in the way of parts.
Ideal would be an ARC Airbox and a Kakimoto Regu06&R exhaust. Will be interesting to see if anyone figures out a PPF delete too. Those bits would likely free up a fair chunk of power. 300hp should be easily an reliably achieved I think.

The car will Dyno at nearly 300 from the factory - I'll wager they're understating power by at least 10%.Ideal would be an ARC Airbox and a Kakimoto Regu06&R exhaust. Nice, the 5.5s to 60 is probably an underestimate too. I think this thing will probably be faster off the line than the Supra! What do people reckon the 3cy Engine will sound like potentially with an aftermarket exhaust? I reckon much better at idle and top end of rev range, it would be cool to try get a nice bit of over-run out of it too. I miss decent overrun from my old car Although a new remap may be needed for that. I saw a video of someone on Milton Keynes Toyota share a video of the Pre production starting on a cold start in the show room and it sounded much better than I thought it would, although given its a pre prod model, I wonder what the final spec will sound like in the UK with the standard stock exhaust with all these emission regulations!

I always wanted my GTxx to have more power and AWD. Now Toyota have made that dream a reality.

Me too, but then I'm biased as I owned a GTxx for 5 years with a straight through exhaust and north of 160hp.

What GR Yaris spec have you gone for?Was amazing fun and one of the reasons the GR is appealing to me.

I have gone for the Pure White (Flat white) colour and the Circuit Pack

Scarlet Flare Circuit Pack
But I keep vacillating on the colour!
Sam.M - Nice! I was torn between Scarlet Flare and Pure White, I like the white against the black trim, it makes a great contrast imo! But I keep vacillating on the colour!
I imagine this is your dream Spec shown in this video... Scarlet Flare, Circuit Pack and Convenience Pack, in another video, they show under the boot lining, this specific car has the intercooler spray too :O
