Annoyingly vague.
Maybe it's all included as standard in the non circuit pack version !James Clark replied to Luden

I asked toyota directly if this is the final UK spec. They said yes thats the confirmed UK launch specification.
Full spec can be seen here - https://blog.toyota.co.uk/gr-yaris
No where does it mention any features of the convience pack. I also then asked toyota directly to confirm that either standard or circuit pack models do not include the JBL speakers, the HUD, the heated seats etc. They said we can confirm these options are not present or available.
I do wonder what this James chap means by there is a good reason why.
My dealership said they chose not to spec those options to the UK to save weight. Maybe James is referring to weight saving as a good reason why. As its meant to be a "drivers car"
Who knows

Maybe they're saying your average UK driver is a fat bd and the car needs to shed weight Who knows

Will report back as I know more.
Checking back on the 1st Edition specs for the Japanese cars... https://toyotagazooracing.com/jp/gr/yaris/1stediti...
JBL and HUD are available on the RZ High Performance model - the circuit pack equivalent.
So it seems at least some aspects of the convenience package can be optioned in Japan.

I don’t get what all the rush is for. It was very clear when I put the deposit down that it would be October/November for the test drive I put the deposit down based on the information that was released at the time and was not expecting to hear anything more until that test drive. I really don’t get what he’s expecting from his dealer??ecsrobin said:

Quite. Some people need to get a grip. Sam.M said:
James has replied saying it is not technically possible to add both packs, and offered to provide more detail on that to me by e-mail.
Will report back as I know more.
James has said "it is not technically possible".... Okay, hold on a minute, I call bullst on that, I can clearly see a youtube video here of the RZ High Specification Model being unveiled in Japan. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_6-SBHbx5EWill report back as I know more.
In this video, you can see the Forged Alloys of the Circuit Pack, including the MPS4S Tyres, yes we are not offered the RZ High Spec model in the UK, but the Circuit Pack is the same offering in UK Market.
Moving on into the interior of the exact same car, you can see the HUD, JBL Speakers and the Heated Seats.
So if they can spec all of these technology bits on the Japanese RHD model Circuit Pack with the features of a convenience pack all combined on one car, why can they not do that in the UK.
Dont forget guys the Pre Production model doing the rounds in UK dealerships the (flat white) model, is a LHD, European spec, but has the circuit pack and the convenience pack combined. Admittedly its not final UK Spec, but it seems it is possible to combine both the Circuit Pack and the Convenience Pack into one car....
Be interesting to see what he says Sam.M
Upon his response I would bat back some photos of the pre-production model in the UK clearly showing the circuit pack and the convenience pack and say but it is possible on this car, and the Youtube video I have posted above showing the same combined packs on one car in the Japanese market.
That would be my suggestion, but lest see what he says.
Check the Japanese site.

The convenience pack(they call it comfort pack) is not an option on the Japanese "Circuit pack" cars, nor for EU Circuit pack cars.
In Japan you can spec JBL on Circuit Pack cars as an individual option, and the HUD is available to Circuit Pack cars as part of the "Safety Pack".
The car doing the rounds in the UK right now does not have a HUD for instance, so its definitely not a Convenience Package car.
I've been DMing with Scott Brownlee and James Clark, both PR for Toyota UK.
James has said that they may consider offering the ConvPack to the base GR Yaris in the UK, but no similar concession was mooted for the JBL on Circuit Pack cars, only that Toyota R&D Europe may offer a solution "down the line".
I hope this doesn't mean that they'll release a higher spec Circuit Pack car in year 2, which would be a slap in the face of us early adopters. This is what happened with the Supra, many criticisms of the 2020 car were fixed in the 2021 car, much to the chagrin of early adopters.

That sounds like bks to me, it's possible in other countries, yes? Will report back as I know more.
I think the problem is that Toyota will never admit they're doing it to avoid having to test another variant for emissions and/or have it bugger up their fleet average emissions figures.
Because they know the answer from the entire prospective customer base for something like this will be "we don't care, build it".

Agreed. I placed my pre-order expecting the same with delivery not until 2021. I doubt I'll have any contact until October for a test drive. Frankly I'd rather have to make the decision to commit to this car as late as possible. Given the economic situation right now I'd rather see what the economy looks like once the furlough scheme ends before I make that kind of financial commitment.Gassing Station | Toyota | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
