Some of the shots I've seen on Twitter of the scarlet flare car make me regret changing my order.

It does seem to be a hard colour to capture well on camera.

In other news, Blitz have announced the list of parts they're developing for the GR

https://www.blitz.co.jp/car_special/special_yaris....

I'm hoping we see the likes of Fujitsubo, ARC, HKS and Greddy announce theirs soon.

The red is really nice in the flesh.

I also saw what I think is a rally variant?

I really need to actually see one of these in Red. In the dealership I was told it looked like the Corolla scarlet flare which looks abit dull. But then the car at GWFoS looks really nice in red.

I'll take some more pics of it tomorrow.

I'm not familiar with Toyota colours, and don't recall the Corolla so can't help with comparisons - but to these eyes it was a nice rich and deep red.

Sway thanks for the pics. They are probably pretty standard cars. What do they seem to go like, sound like etc.

To be honest, I haven't had a chance to see them really!

Been a busy couple of days - but I have no pulls on my time tomorrow now our race is done and dusted today. I just caught the red one returning back to the paddock yesterday as I was leaving the circuit.

If there's interest, I'll make my way over to the first look paddock tomorrow for a proper look (had a quick shufty today - but the TAG Porsche 930 consumed my attention...). I'll also try to grab some impressions during the circuit run, I figured by this thread there's a lot of people keen to get more of an idea.

As you can probably tell - absolutely zero bias from me!

Would be great to get a few more pics of the red.
I have one coming very soon & have not seen one or driven one.
Probably plenty more in the same situation.

I was shown this Toyota (Cr-v??) and told this was the colour. Looks pretty close but maybe slightly too light.

Sound is st. Not sure if I uploaded the video I took of it at the Nurburgring when I was there but you wouldn’t turn your head when you hear it. It did look quick though.

Here you go sorry for the st video I was having a beer on my hotel room balcony when I realised it was the car I’d paid money for and never seen roflhttps://youtu.be/NldRMvpF3tA

Exhaust seems a must I think.

Struggling to find a source for the GR exhaust, which also requires the rear aero piece.

I only agree partially. Yes there isn't much coming from the stock exhaust but Toyota has nailed the sound that comes from the front and that you hear as a driver. No surprise there since they also did with the Lexus V8 models and my Yaris GRMN is pretty good in that regard too.

Obviously it's not quite at WRC levels but the GR does have a very audible blowoff valve. As a lover of turbo noises that makes me happy.
You can hear what Im talking about in this short video

The only new car release that's excited me since....the Impreza 22B when I was 5?

What a machine, I'm so glad Toyota have had the balls to put something like this into production. Kind of seems like it might be a bit of a last hurrah for the raw, silly, driver focused internal combustion era. If I had the disposable income I'd be buying a pair, one to use and one to stash away and sell in 20 years with delivery mileage!

As someone who's passion is 90s cars, this seems to tick all the boxes and is as close to a 90s Japanese turbo hero car you can buy today, so the appeal is massive. I really really do fancy one.

I've never bought a car from a secondhand dealer (always a private sale, often from a dodgy bloke in a dodgy place and that's just the kind of car I like to buy), let alone a brand new one from a main dealer but this is seriously tempting me....

How many cars have they got there? I’ve seen photos of a left and right hand drive car in red.

Pass! The white one was all lonely in the little section opposite the shop that had been used as the rally paddock. Didn't get a chance to go over to the first look paddock yesterday.

That is Scarlet Flare and is the colour that the GR4 is using. I had a Corolla in that colour as a courtesy car over Xmas last year. I thought it was a pretty dull red. I love red, but not this one. I ordered pure white.

That just looks like a Circuit Pack to me. Looks the same a the car I have ordered. I've seen the pre-production car in this spec in my dealer. It looks the same with a few stickers on it.

The car has been launched in Japan and there are a few owners with the cars. The official launch for the UK was of course Goodwood this weekend. I have also heard that dealers are not releasing cars to customers until the 10th November. Dealers are getting their demos this coming week.

I fully expect the usual hacks to be able to get behind the wheel over the next week or so. Then we should at last have some reviews! I can't wait for EVO to get behind the wheel, but am almost anxious as I've got my car coming on the 18th November!

The GR uses Emotional Red. There are a few metallic reds in use at Toyota. Emotional red is a bit darker than the rest, doesn't pop and I think is quite sensitive to the other colours on the car. I would stick with black wheels rather than silver (or even white) if changing the wheels. I've ordered red...

Feels like I’ve probably made the right choice on the pearl white then. The Corolla red didn’t do it for me. Like the new Ford performance blue it’s a subdued colour 🙁.
