Purely based on that small cross section of Bristol I’m going black and white more popular than red......

These aren’t cars destined for Bristol. The photo is of the Toyota UK compound at Portbury docks and are the cars straight off the ship. The cars from here are destined to go UK wide.

Sorry if I misunderstood your Bristol comment.

Possibly wanting to get press reviews out before owners start talking.

I’m not sure anyone knows for sure.

I am not sure about any embargo, but from previous experience with cars coming in via the docks it is not unusual for it to take 2 to 3 weeks or even longer after the boat is unloaded for the cars to reach the dealers.

I mean white and black are pretty safe colors. Every other color is more of a gamble. Sometimes they can look great and sometimes not so much.
From what I have seen I actually really like the red tone on the Yaris but still I wouldn't get one myself in that color. It's an odd thing to explain but I feel many cars have an "official" color that just looks right and how it should be. In the case of the GR Yaris I definitely feel that it is white. I personally went with the slightly colder pearl one but the standard one isn't bad either. It's actually black that I have the most problems with. Just like with the Civic Type R I feel it just absorbs way too much of the design and the details. I guess for some people that is actually a positive thing but I don't feel the same way.

I found the Yaris GR, unfortunately they were parked well away from the fence:
Awesome!
Most of our cars are probably in that photo somewhere!

Yep. I should have probably put based on the photo.

I think it’s been mentioned across many sources that it’s a press embargo?

Nice find and only two weeks to go. At least for a few. I still don't know if my car will arrive mid-November but of course I hope so.

Also a new video upload about the car at Goodwood Speedweek

If anyone has been targeted by the evo Car of the Year 2020 advert online, look closely as I suspect there's a white GR Yaris on the left. Very low res image so could equally be something else entirely though! I remain hopeful this thing is great, and Toyota UKs PR department look like they have been having lots of fun in the press cars this week...

Yes, it did understeer around cones quite nicely.

Thing is, most ph'ers cant drive like that, but it's not cars fault. This would be perfect car for me and my close roads, which happens to be a finnish gravel roads.

Funny how the Toyota PR led videos show a lot of on demand RWD shenanigans only yet the non Toyota, more amateur videos show a very different driving style ...

I don’t really understand how you can infer anything from that video. It just looks like someone testing the car. They could be testing geometry settings or drive modes..for instance it could be being tested in normal road 60/40 front rear?

Funny how all the Toyota PR led videos feature professional/experienced drivers able and willing to use the car to it's full potential...

Look, I'm sure the car will understeer given suitable conditions, most cars do, especially if the geometry is set that way. I can get my MX5 running coilovers, MPSS and LSD to understeer, even though it has an oversteer biased geo. However, I also know how to pitch it into oversteer, dry or wet, with a measly 150hp.

You're worrying over nothing, and frankly telegraphing a lack of faith in your own ability to make a car with 270lb/ft of torque, LSDs and a rear biased AWD system get oversteer.

I’d also seen an interview with Evans elsewhere talking about how easy it was to drift the car 😍. Obviously their driving talent vastly exceeds ours but it seems to bode well for the hooning potential of this car.

I thought the car looked quite good on the track, where incidentally a degree of mild understeer is probably quicker and more effective than drifting.

This is one of the only modern cars I feel any enthusiasm about, hopefully it starts a trend.
