What is the situation with cancelled orders being "sold on", surely that is not allowed??
I was late in the game to get my order in, but would expect a cancelled order to allow me to move up the ladder, not be sold on to someone else, who was even later in the game than me!
Just feeling a bit miffed as was told that it would not happen!
Quite hard to give a short answer and not ramble on too much, and keep it all relevant! I was late in the game to get my order in, but would expect a cancelled order to allow me to move up the ladder, not be sold on to someone else, who was even later in the game than me!

I can only speak from my experience, some dealers/franchises may have a different process.
If someone cancels, which does happen, we try where possible to bring some forward, I’ve already done this twice for PH member orders.
....but it’s not always as simple as you’d think.
Lets say it’s Black, and it’s due in mid March, and I’ve got 10 other customers in the queue wanting a Black one.
Some of them are happy to wait, and would prefer to, they may already having a car going back at the end of a PCP so being early doesn’t help them. So they are out.
Some want it sooner, but I can’t offer a test drive until April, and the customer won’t commit until he’s driven one, so they’re out.
The car will arrive in March, and now the dealer has to pay Toyota the £30K+ for the car within 14 days, and none of the queue can fully commit. What do you do?
Sell it to someone who calls up, who will buy it there and then?
Is that fair? Yes and No!
If I do find someone in the queue who can commit, I’ll then need to call everyone again to see if they want to come forward a slot, and it’s all a bit of a ball ache from a Toyota order system perspective, it shouldn’t be, but it is.
So I can see why dealers will sell the cancelled ordered slot to a fresh customer, It can just be much easier for them.

Just to add I’m a very satisfied customer of Save Ferris and look forward to my test drive of the new GR010 when he gets a road car in……
We’ve got a pre-production model in on February 30th if you’d like to come in, take it out for a few hours if you’d like?Save Ferris said:

So if somebody is really desperate for theirs sooner, they should phone their dealer every day to see if there has been a cancellation?MiseryStreak said:

If you are desperate for a car ring the dealer and give them a deposit over the phone for first refusal on any cancellations.
Either that or ring a few dealers and tell them you'll give a credit card deposit right there if they have a cancellation.
Ringing every day isn't going to get you a car.

Just saw this video. 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds.

Guess it will only be a matter of time until the 4 second barrier is broken. If a tuning box is enough for this already.

I know that sounds *REALLY* harsh, and it will put me in a negative light
Nope. Sounds totally reasonable to me.Galerion said:

I think 4 seconds is achievable I think one of the magazines autocar/whatcar got about 4.4 seconds on a stock car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwpAvzKdPg0

Must be at the limit of what is achievable in a manual? (With gear change)
With an ITG filter and the DTUK box you’re looking at just over 300bhp and 400nm.

Grrrr, this car is annoyingly tempting
Anyone know if the torsen diffs are really essential on the road ? After an EVO and an STi I can't imagine a car of this type without them ?
I would say for you I expect they would be necessary.Anyone know if the torsen diffs are really essential on the road ? After an EVO and an STi I can't imagine a car of this type without them ?

I doubt it will be too long before diffs come up for sale though...once a few get "bent"
