Mine finally arrived a week back and I collected last Saturday, exactly 6 months to the day after order was placed.

Dealer was very accommodating, didn't wash it and left all transport protection in place. Little surprised to only have 20 quid's worth of fuel in...maybe ive been spoilt with other brands. Couldnt be bothered to mention it and took it as a positive that I can use that 20 quid and stick a full tank of V power in.

I removed the protection from the roof at the dealers just to check the wrap. I've read of people finding damage. All good though and its now at the detailers getting Xpel to front and high impact areas and ceramic coated to all other bits. Ive decided to get the rear piano black bits Xpel'ed also as ive heard they are a nightmare to keep swirl free.

Only drove 9 miles so far, in traffic but first impressions it feels like a special little car......Collecting this Friday which feels like proper new car day... smile

Booked in Saturday morning for Miltek fitting.... Ive promised the wife that's the last of the spending on it but already got my eye on the String Theory garage Eibach springs and spacers.....
Car looks great, enjoy! I am booking my car for PPF and wondered what areas you are covering and how much roughly people are being quoted?

Having owned my car 6 months the rear arches have no chips and the front bumper and bonnet is covered in them.

Interesting. I've done 3500 miles in mine and don't have a single chip anywhere at the front, do you track yours?

Im getting Xpel to front end, A pillars, mirrors, lower cills, and sort of half way up rear arches. Basically high impact areas. That is about 1600 quid but is part of a group buy offer. includes a new car detail and ceramic coating to other panels.

Ive decided to get the piano black bits on the rear covered too. Ive read a few folk saying they end up covered in swirl marks even with a clean car and clean microfibre.

Does a wrap more economical and offer better protection?

No track work just commuting and country roads.

No, Xpel self healing film will offer more protection than a normal vinyl wrap.

It was on the GR Yaris Forum. Its at a Newcastle based detailer so probably a bit far north for most.

Ive seen others on there offering similar.

Many thanks for letting me know. That’s very good value for all that. I have been quoted over £2k for that level of PPF and ceramic coating. Do we have any recommendations of places for PPF where we have a group buy in place?

So then, anyone else found there brand new sub 10 mile car has been thrashed/ launched from cold over a 3 mile trip by someone at the dealership?

Trip to the petrol station to get fuel for your car? The app is ultra sensitive so don’t get worked up about hard accelerating or braking however if you login to the website version of the app it will tell you the top speed would be surprised if its over the speed limit.

This came up on GRY forum, the app is ridiculously sensitive.

This is a recent trip driving around a residential area, still warming the car up and I don't break the speed limit around town.

My car seems to not be too sensitive on the accelerating front tbh, if anything it’s the other way.

Obviously I’m not trying hard enough because I can’t get it to register more than one/ two icons per roundabout

I drove to work today, once warmed up I gave it some gas in multiple places inc overtakes and only 3 hard acceleration symbols on map over 9 miles

One of their trips out was 80 in a 50 limit

Said I’m not happy (more extreme) they said sorry not much we can do
I said what happens if this is repeated on servicing, they said hopefully not but there’s not much they can do to guarantee it!

Wtf!

That part would annoy me, but as they said there's not really much they can do about it.

Only took 500 miles for me to get one… it is what it is though… it’s not an age related thing getting a stone chip, just unlucky

One is unlucky sure, but ecsrobin's car is covered in them, and if it's just commuting etc (same as me) then that might be something in the driving style, perhaps driving too close to the cars in front? And it's not like I drive slow, I always McRae the country lanes and the motorway speed limit here is 87mph, I'm usually doing an indicated 95mph.

Or maybe colour makes a difference to susceptibility to stone chips, mines pure white.

That is the key bit. I’m red and it sticks out white you’re not even going to notice as it’s a base coat. I was expecting it though my civic had awfully thin paint and people suggested that’s common for Japanese cars back then. Still it’s a car to be used its not a garage queen.
