So then, anyone else found there brand new sub 10 mile car has been thrashed/ launched from cold over a 3 mile trip by someone at the dealership?

Ignore it and treat it as a gimmick. I drove mine 9 miles from dealer to detailer in convoy with the wife. App said 30 mpg average...I drove it like an elderly nun. It still showed multiple harsh accelerations and braking.

ETA: where does the app show speed at each point on the last journey? I can only see average speed data.

Yes dont worry i think the app considers touching either the brake or go pedal as harsh!!

I really thought i was being gentle on my first 35 commute to work and it recorded about 35 hard accelerates and 45 hard brakes!!

The app is rubbish in that respect, but car is awesome!!

Yeah, the app would appear to have the same acceleration/braking g thresholds as other Toyotas.

I'm betting the GR can pull a little bit more than a Prius or boggo Yaris, hence the almost constant pinging on the app.

Still it’s a car to be used its not a garage queen.
Amen.
I’ll give you another amen… it was the detailer who pointed it out to me, I wasn’t overly bothered, there to be driven as designed, mine won’t be a garage queen

I’ve decided to make the jump. Have booked a test drive this weekend and if it goes well (the seating position is the main question mark), then take my money! The wait is going to be long thereafter...
Anyone bought one in West / North West London and has experience to share with their dealer? There are 3 near me so may have some flexibility.

Thank you in advance.

Was nice to see one in the flesh this morning in Worpleston near Guildford...

Bright white going the other way, I was out in a silver Evo, we had a little cross generational wave/nod

You can't beat a bit of fridge white, the fastest colour cause it's the lightest.........

You're all wrong wink
((although there is no 'wrong' colour for the GR Yaris):

Bit of an update.

I have had mine since mid March, it’s been my daily driving car although as I am predominantly working from home I don’t drive it everyday wobble

In the couple of thousand miles it has loosened up a fair bit and seems to rev much more freely.

It’s flare red and when I had it I put a coat of decent polish on it myself, some carbon fibre mudguards to the fronts and some PPF off sticky on the rear arches. Glad I put this on because my stupid son reversed into it and scratched the PPF only.

Although I have only washed it a couple of times I have some light scratches across the roof, I have never seen scratches like this so either I had some grit on the sponge and have been careless or it’s rather soft, has anyone else had scratches show up on theirs?

I do find the ride hard and pretty uncompromising especially as the road repair guys like to make the repairs along the edge of the roads rippled like corrugated cardboard.

Mirror still gets in the way need to get the file out on that.

I have a little lumbar cushion for the seat which really improves it for me.

Overall, I must say I have really warmed to it, I think it’s a cool little car and it’s a fun little beastie that is comfortable enough and razor sharp when your in the mood, economy is good enough and it is seemingly hardly depreciating at all so a few less mpg doesn’t really matter in the scheme of things.

I can see myself keeping it for a couple of years and maybe long term if I can am still allowed to drive into cities in a petrol car.

Hope everyone is enjoying theirs too.

Ref. the scratches. Are you actually using a sponge?

Took mine for an alignment yesterday at 1000 miles.

First off tyre pressures were at 39 all around, front should be 2.2 bar, rear 2.0 bar.

Front left toe was 1.6mm out, Front right was 0.2mm out too. Rear toe also out by similar amounts so inc. tyre pressure it's a bit of a PDI fail all around.

Camber was half a degree out too because of this which isn't ideal.

Used Toyota official supplied strut bolts to correct the camber to -3.0 front, and went with 0.0mm toe all round, as a result the turn in is sharp and handling is very neutral with seemingly few trade offs with tram lining etc. Tyre wear is unknown but hopefully won't be too bad.

I’m guessing tyre pressures aren’t on the PDI as it seems a very common issue high pressures due to transit. I doubt alignment is part of the PDI though?

A good friend owns a garage, he did it on their machine.

Errr yes, with a hose first, bucket full of warm water with a splash of car shampoo, rinse off, then microfibre cloth to dry.

(I feel as if I should not be now)..
