Just had my ‘build in progress’ email. If it leaves Japan before Christmas, should be just right for February/March delivery. Perfect.

Now the demos are at the dealers, has anyone actually took delivery of their ordered car?

Not yet.

Had a test drive and a request for payment. Toyota GB told me the car is due on 9th December but that date keeps changing.

First deliveries to dealers penned for this Friday. So dealer PDI and then a few people expecting to collect cars next week...

I was told mine should be delivered to the dealer "from the 1st December"
If I haven't heard anything by Friday then I'll probably ring my dealer and see what they know.

I got my "your car has left the factory" mail a few weeks ago. Did anyone get another message when it was on a ship? Or should I assume it's on the sea somewhere now?

There was a tracking thread on the GR Yaris forums on how to follow the boat, which I used to stalk mine. I think shortly afterwards though the voyages got a lot more unpredictable and harder to work out which boat your car might have been on. You'll get a notification once it reaches the UK though and from there it was typically about 3 weeks to reach the dealer and be ready for collection.

It's at sea. Mine was about a month from Japan to Portbury

Yep 4-6 weeks from Japan the last ship to dock was a few days behind schedule then as above 2-3 weeks to dealer from port via PDI.

So from message of left factory allow 6-9 weeks (as long as Toyota start delivering the cars now and it doesn’t just sit around….)

Wow and from a dealer! I debated ordering one to see what the market was like and just thought it’s a bit of a tttish thing to do. Wish I had now if that’s any suggestion of what the market is going to be as I’d have paid off the Yaris selling one rofl

Been confirmed dealers can’t sell for 6-12 months, was a placeholder, there’s also a black one that’s a placeholder.

If they were making that much mine would be up for sale next week…..

How would a placeholder end up with a live eBay ad?

Emailed my dealer last night asking if they had any firm date on when the car might arrive. He replied this morning "I've just seen you car go past my window on the transporter, we will call you to arrange an appointment for collection."

App has now updated to "Arrived at Retailer".

Now sitting here like an excited toddler biggrin
