As I said in my previous post the M8 comp doesn't fair to badly in comparison!

After all my chat on this topic, the blue LC at Stockport for £62k is pretty hard to match. Amazing looking car for new audi estate money!
It’s a base spec not a sport or sport plus, so crap wheels imho, doom blue, different seats, no rear wheel steer or sport spec clever stuff but has got mark levinson and heads up display - those two are the sum total of the entire LC options list - there’s nothing else you can choose apart from colours.May I steer sir towards the red over red/black Sport Plus at Auto100? Earlier car so might not have the daft GPFs in the exhaust (so it sounds as good as the non-EU cars), plus it’s cheaper, top spec apart from no mark levinson, one of the better colours, and bearing in mind the Lexus relax 10 year warranty there’s no point buying approved used - buy anywhere, chuck it in for a service and you get another 12m warranty.

I'll stick with the base spec blue one, reds common as muck on these May I steer sir towards the red over red/black Sport Plus at Auto100? Odd depreciation comment the LC tanks 5 years half price 3 years and 7 thousand miles £30k loss 1 year old with 5k £25k loss , its similar to many cars in the price bracket. Looking at autotrader the M8 comp is slightly better to own in this respect.

What did you replace it with? This is a mega pic btwLC500 thread: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

As much as I like the LC500 I've always thought it was more suited for the USA market and their roads, when I test drove one as a possible replacement for my RCF it just felt too big for the type of driving I enjoy.
One of the few places you can enjoy driving these days are on the back roads deep in the countryside or on a track day. My RCF (it shares the same V8 N/A engine with the LC) is fine on a decent A road but my Yaris GR leaves it for dust on a twisty B road. So I imagine the LC would be well out of it's comfort zone in both cases.

Yeh - the red is the worst colour….. actually after yellow.I’d only consider a Sport+. The rear wheel steering massively sharpens up the car. They feel much smaller from behind the wheel.
Andy, red convertible (no rear steer)

Yeah it’s not a back roads car, it’s a wide open road GT really. Too heavy, too wide to chuck about on narrow roads but a lot more competent than the Maserati Grancab it replaced. One of the few places you can enjoy driving these days are on the back roads deep in the countryside or on a track day. It wouldn’t see which way a Yaris went!

Indeed I’m totally sold on the Lexus ownership experience both from the warranty and dealership point of view. It wouldn’t see which way a Yaris went!
Speaking from experience of owning top of the range AMG and M cars ownership of any Lexus product seems to be an awful lot cheaper long term although not quite there performance wise.

As for what you're saying about the RC-F, I don't totally agree. Having owned an RC-F, I eventually ended up with an LC. Recently I've had an RC-F loaner, so I feel justified in comparing the two. The LC500 is a wider can than the RC-F, no doubt, but with rear wheel steering, the LC's handling is much crisper and sharper. It's going to be contrary to belief, but the LC is a better drivers car than the RC-F. Outside of the handling, the induction noise and exhaust noise are in a different league. Finally, there's the attention the LC gets - it's simply off the scale. Nobody looks at an RC-F, literally nobody. One of the few places you can enjoy driving these days are on the back roads deep in the countryside or on a track day. As for the difference on a B road between the RC-F and the LC....... you have to drive the RC-F much harder to get the fun out of it. With the LC the noise it makes is so rewarding and with a crisper turn in, it simply is more fun at lower speeds. The RC-F is also very high geared, with 3rd seeing 104 mph (on the Isle Of Man), whilst the LC is lower geared, so you once again, more fun.
If you are going to argue that the LC is too wide for the British roads, then you have to argue that most GT cars are. The LC after all is less than 2cm wider than a BMW M8

So twisty little B roads are to me the only real way to enjoy motoring these days or track days, and the LC and the RCF are not really cars to take on track or twisty little B roads either.
The LC is a lovely looking thing no doubt about it but my particular RCF gets far more attention than I'm comfortable with anyway and its not that important to me.
It's the engine in both cars which for me is the star.

Avoid them like the plague, they sold me a 2018 991.2 GTS, and 3 months later it has a turbo leaking oil and exhaust clamps about to fall off due to rust. Apparently it's totally acceptable to them and not covered under warranty. Looking at their negative reviews (past all the fake trustpilot ones) im not the only one with problems buying shoddy cars off them and then refusing to fix them.May I steer sir towards the red over red/black Sport Plus at Auto100?
