That might be my solution. Fit a 2.5" downpipe rather than a 3" jobbie. Might provide enough backpressure not to confuse the wastegate.

Sounds like a nice spec mate. Good luck with the build.

Oh nearly forgot, Gazboy, ive seen an MR2 with 640 bhp using the standard crank! Its got that much torque that it wheelies! Ill try and find out the url so you can have a dribble m8.

Was that not a blown yank spec 5S?

Though it was the 3SGTE engine Mr E.

Just a thought on your backpressure thing tho. Backpressure is the enemy of power! And turbo's hate it!
Hyper Sports do a good replacement pipe for these engines mate, cost about 150 but worth it cos it makes a lot of room and is a good fit.

Yeah, the HSR is the 2.5" pipe I'm looking at.

The alternative is the Aussie 3" one.

Packpressure = bad, but a the wastegate on the ST205 stock turbo can't cope with very high exhaust flow apparently. Simply not designed for it.

Ok gents, give me your opinions on this lot:

<a href="http://www.g-force-motorsport.co.uk/powermeasurements.html">www.g-force-motorsport.co.uk/powermeasurements.html</a>

Would you say the power figs provided would be at the wheels, or fly, they wont give me the same answer twice, if at all...

They are correct with their measurements of transmission loss. You're really only interested in figures at the wheels.

'Corrected' figures at the fly are guesstimates, and usually to flatter the customers ego.
