So......... as you all know I love this little cat and have only had it a short while. Our roads in the uk aren’t great and the car has been to Winchester where I bought it to have a list of rattles and panels sorted.

Both doors were sorted but I still have a buzzing/resonating noise at low speeds slowing down. Also it sounds like the exhaust heat shield or something is rattling.

Can someone look at their car and tell me should there be a nut on this here to stop the inter cooler rattling as I’m positive this is there cause

I can confirm there should be a nut on there. Just looks like one of those 10mm nuts used elsewhere - nothing special.

And the previous model the Alpine replaced
A few Dieppe produced cars 172 Cup, 182 Trophy and now A110
Is that a TZ750 engine in that Yamaha?

Mental.

Should be a nut and large washer. Not sure how that worked loose?

Thanks for the info regarding the 64gb size, I didn't spot that in the manual

And yes that's a TZ750 sprint bike I built a couple of years ago. On YouTube search "Andy Mitchell TZ750" and there's a few videos on that channel some onboard and a couple with another rider at Leighton Hall, in the wet and a rather large wheelie

Actually there isn't a washer as such - it's one of those combined nut/washer things. Pedantry rules - is it not so?

I believe it’s called a flange nut.

SD card progress, well sort of!
I have found a 64gb card in a tablet, formatted it and copied 1 album onto it. Good news is I don't get the warning that there's no media.
And now the strange bit
The first track it tried to play wasn't one I'd put on the card. If I then try to look at what is meant to be the contents of the card or shows loads of albums and podcasts that are nothing to do with me
If I try to play any of them it shows as though the time is jumping around and no sound comes out.
If navigate through I can find my album and it actually send to play correctly
Anybody know how to clear the ghost of the previous owner's card?

Thanks all, I did a full spanner check on things I could get to and I’ve been at it all day removing rear undertray and interior panels.

I’ve added a nut and locking washer. The fact there’s no nut and that has a metal sleeve around the locating bolt I’m hopeful this has been the cause of my mystery rattle.

I doubt it’s worked loose and more likely it has not been replaced by a technician. Shame I’ve had to get stuck I lm to sort it after the dealer had it 10 days.

Washing it and then taking it for a spin, fingers crossed

Finally the SD card and the system seem to be working correctly
All I could find to try to clear the ghost tracks was factory reset, which I tried but no difference. Tried again and again no difference
Turned everything off tried few minutes later and ghost tracks had gone
Thanks for everybody's help and patience

Fingers crossed for you.

I'm still trying to track down a "plastic dunk" that seems to be coming from under the dash. At first I thought it was the cheap plastic trim under the windscreen in front of the dash but I think it's beneath it on the passenger side.
I've had the passenger panel off to expose the fuse box etc- fuse box is a little loose but couldn't make the noise I'm hearing.

It's like a plastic box banging on another bit of plastic when the road is bumpy
Any ideas at all please?

many thanks

Not sure if the same thing but my seatbelt receiver (is that the correct term for pedants?) was making a lot of noise over bumps. Bit of sticky felt sorted it out. If you put your seatbelt together and pull it around you might get the noise which was really irritating!

Well what can I say!! My first drive with not a squeak, rattle or buzz!!! Joy!

That nut sorted out my constant buzz so I’m glad I had a wobbly and went at it today.

Removed the centre console, tightened and felt tape everywhere there was plastic on plastic.

Dial fake Carbon cover, removed, tightened and again covered with felt tape.

Undertray removed and cleaned. Lots of stones were gathered but wanted access to spanner check from underneath.

Drivers rear quarter panel removed and seatbelt holder tightened and felt tape where I thought would help.

The car is now silent and doesn’t rattle like an old Rover.

I have broken 2 clips on the interior trim panel around the rear quarter window but the rest went smoothly.

Now onto Winchester to ask them to explain the missing nut.

Cheers for your help everyone

Mine does have an occasional "ticking" sound from behind my seat. I should probably investigate it.

I'm sure Alpine said the carbon fibre was real. Mind you when you have PU leather which isn't leather at all, and bonded leather which only has to be 25% leather mulch I'm not sure how "real" is defined.

But a couple of felt pads can stop it buzzing, and you don't necessarily need to remove it to fit them.

I've got a quote for £395 for the third service which includes brake fluid this time. Has anyone done better?

I went into London today for a client site visit. Got waved at by a chap in a Ferrari, and beeped at by a chap in an Audi (who turned out to be someone I was meeting there and had recognised the car).

It works awfully well as a normal car - I think it's better for this sort of thing than my Golf, mostly on account of it's smaller. Average is now 39.9mpg, I'm mildly irked that I didn't get it up to a round 40...

Looking at that from the other end, what's the lowest mpg anyone has managed?

Personally haven't been down to 20 - though on the odd occasion I have been pushing it on track I never bothered to look. Autocar got 17.9 on track. 40 is far from the upper end - though I've never quite managed 50. I can quite imagine that someone who uses it as a daily, doesn't do much town running or short journeys might well AVERAGE over 40 without making any particular effort at economy.

I see the low 20’s when I’m having fun, but managed 39.5mpg on a 200 mile drive to Lincolnshire this afternoon, including 30 minutes of stop/start ‘fun’ on the M25 banghead
