Thanks for the write up and pictures, sounds like you had a good time smile
Thanks for the kind words! I have a ton of pictures — I tried to keep it under control for the post. Here's a couple more — one going up the Col de la Bonette in France on the way to Monaco (one of the highest passes in Europe), and another from the Nürburgring.

One thing I noticed is how much attention this car gets — especially in France. One day I had a guy ask me to take a picture of him next to the car! It was also fun seeing the odd other A110 out in the wild and waving and flashing lights at each other. I've only ever seen other A110s here in Sweden at specific events that bring them together!

Oh yes, one more thing — I found out that the Alpine Rally / Coupe des Alpes was going right past where I was staying this year, so I got up early that morning and camped out on the route as the sun rose over the mountains to see some A110s and various classic cars go past.

This is my favourite photo from the morning — it seems our fellow A110 driver was getting a bit impatient with the Alfa! laugh

I had no idea there were discounts to be had eek
I was told there weren't on factory orders but maybe on stock cars.
I told them what I was prepared to pay not expecting them to say yes but eventually they did.
Spurred on by VensionPie's great deal I pooped into my local dealer to see what was in stock and they had a Pure edition in the following spec

Fuchs
Big brakes
Sports exhaust
Front and rear parking sensors
Telemetrics

in Iridescent white - I'd be very happy with this.

It has been in stock since February and there is some slight rust on the discs so assume it has been outside at some point but not necessarily an issue. They have an OTR price of £52,643 and the website configurator shows over £54k (can't work out how to add telemetrics and I'm assuming there has been a price rise since it's been in the showroom?).

Question is, what offer should I make? I've tried to keep an eye on the market but I don't see much selling to know what is a fair price.

Telemetrics were £192, but as you say prices have risen slightly. Sounds like £50k might be possible. You might be able to negotiate mats. storage pockets for next to seats (very necessary) perhaps Alpine luggage if you would like to fit a couple of wheeled carry on type luggage.

Telemetrics were £192 back in late 2018 (I think) when I ordered my A110, if that helps.

Good to hear you're going for it, which dealer is it?

So had my test drive today, not ideal weather though so was fairly cautious

Alpine Winchester, Jason has gone, left on Tuesday apparently so they weren’t expecting me so a bit disorganised but we got there in the end.

I took an 18 reg Pure out (although I think I’d go Legende) and with 16000 miles on it it still seemed rattle free, apart from loose rear view mirror.

So, what a lovely thing it is, not like anything I’ve driven before, quick enough and good in the twisties (very wet though) and more than comfy and quiet enough for motorway work, not quite as tiny as I expected, plenty of room for me and the wife but not a lot of luggage/storage space though as expected. Overall it exceeded my expectations in terms of speed, noise (loud and quiet) and grin factor and the wife liked it so it’s definitely a maybe. It’s only real competitor I think at this stage is a V8 Vantage, previous shape which I’ve not yet driven. I know it’s chalk and cheese but it’s good fun working out which way to go

Oh and it had the sports exhaust which the big kid in me absolutely loved, just made me chuckle biggrin

Stone cold - what time were you there? Our paths may have crossed.

Was it this one you took out? I didn't realise it had the sports exhaust.

This was Renault West London. Went to Winchester this afternoon as well.

Porsche OPC didn't return our call (Boxster 4.0), and we've decided a 981 GTS isn't for us, so it's definitely going to be an Alpine. smile

You won't be disappointed.

I thought it might be the one in West London, it's where I got mine from. Hopefully that helps answer your question about where to pitch your offer. Not trying to tell you how to negotiate, I told them what the price would need to be for a deal, thanked them for their time and left the dealership. Later that evening I got a call and they agreed.

Good luck.

I get my servicing done at London West. No idea what the salesman is like (he's changed very recently) - but I would recommend them for servicing, their engineer is a real enthusiast, knowledgeable and good to deal with. Hope you guys don't fight over the same car!

Yep that’s the one, I assumed it was a sports exhaust as it popped and burbled, so if that’s the std exhaust then not sure how loud the SE is, possibly too much.

I was there from 11 and got back about 12:15

The only thing nagging at the back of mind is French build quality........

While there have been a few niggles I'd have to say that considering that the Alpine is a completely new car with a new construction in (essentially) a new factory I have been pleasantly surprised how free the Alpine (not just mine) has been of major issues. (Compare with the engine issues Porsche has had).

I'd agree with that. Also having just had a bit of warranty work there does appear to be a real desire by the dealer to look after customers. It's very low key as well, first names etc none of this suits you sir stuff.

The sports exhaust is only "active" in Sport mode. You do get pops and crackles in Normal mode, but these are intensified in Sport and you get a distinct "crack" on upward changes when pressing on. You also get (which I don't personally like) embarassing flatulence on the overrun. The other thing is that when the car has the sports exhaust it has a "soundactor" which operates in either mode - at modest revs it makes a noise that I can only describe as similar to the "gobble gobble" noise you get with twin choke Webber cars. At a cruise in either mode the exhaust is very unobtrusive.

I should add that my comments are based on my PE which is pre particulate filter, I would expect cars post August 2018 to be a bit quieter.

On Reliability Index, Renault (yes, I know) are 9th. Porsche are 37th...

It does take cost of repair into account as well as frequency of failures, and it's from Warranty Direct claims so biased towards slightly older cars, but should still be reassuring.

If it's the same engineer I'm thinking of I know other people that have had dealings with him and had great feedback.
