No, there's more to it.- Upgraded brakes.
- Upgraded power.
- Upgraded exhaust.
- Upgraded seats.
- Upgraded audio system.
- Various little trim details.

Seems an insane way to spend £10k
The new GT has the same power (296bhp) as the S model, and it comes with the sports exhaust as standard too. The Pure looks like a bargain in comparision to the GT and S models though, I agree.Seems an insane way to spend £10k

No you get quite a few bits and bobs - audio, sports exhaust, big brakes etc. I'd have to check to see if it's a good deal, but it's not the rip-off you imply. It would be the car for me - except they won't let you specify the bucket seats. Seems an insane way to spend £10k

I’ve been chatting to Adam at Winchester, he’s going to get me a price and order a head unit for me when he can, probably sometime in the next few months when the cars start being built.
I’ll do what research I can, but I’d be staggered if the official line on reverse compatibility is anything other than “non”. I’m still happy to order one and find out for myself.
Alright, so this morning I emailed the Alpine salesman at my local dealer asking about this. I just got a reply:I’ll do what research I can, but I’d be staggered if the official line on reverse compatibility is anything other than “non”. I’m still happy to order one and find out for myself.

About the software, as I got the information about it before the reveal, I asked the question directly.
But the answer is no
The older models can not be upgraded to the new infotainment system.
So it looks like the official line is indeed "no".But the answer is no

Well that’s the button pushed and my order for an S rolling again! I went for the orange with titanium Fuchs. Standard interior, no wing (££).
Heard back straight away. Orders won’t be processed till Monday. First production to order in January, delivery in March. So no time penalty from putting the order on hold and waiting for the S2. Only £500 increase from my earlier S1 spec but now no carbon roof or carbon seats…

Well THAT sucks!I'm very very curious to know what the changes are, there might be aerial issues (if they've improved that for DAB) and possibly port issues, but other than that it should be plug and play. I'll find out when I get it I guess!
Overall, I think the new lineup makes a lot sense:
Personally I wouldn’t be ordering the S or the splitter / rear wing because it’s a daily drive for me, but I can see that this lineup probably is a better match for the typical types of customer usage.
And you can still customise each model, to a reasonable degree…
- Entry level bare bones A110 - the original ‘Pure’
- GT - pricier, more luxury & power, for the road
- S - track-oriented, range of options to suit everything from occasional to regular / mostly track use

*I don't want to, but this was supposed to be a lifer, and it's already outdated in one area.

Not surprising, there will be extra hardware needed (an authentication chip) for the CarPlay as has been talked about, so unless it was built in and dormant (staggeringly unlikely) then it was always going to require a complete change of head unit.

You use Martins at Winchester don’t you? Let me know.I'm very very curious to know what the changes are, there might be aerial issues (if they've improved that for DAB) and possibly port issues, but other than that it should be plug and play. I'll find out when I get it I guess!
Looking at this "New" A110 from the perspective of Pure/Legende it seems like the following has happened:
- Price increase of 1,100 EUR on the Pure/A110 (German pricelist)
- As far as I can see the only difference in Pure/A110 specs is the Android Auto/Apple CarPlay capability
- Slight increase on the options prices across the board (fox example Blue Alpine colour from 1,785 EUR to 1,840 EUR, parking sensors + camera from 1,190 EUR to 1,220 EUR).
- The Comfort Package which would take the "New" A110 close to what the old Legende was would take the "New" A110 to 62,980 EUR in Germany which is 1,130 EUR price increase compared to the old Legende.

The optional sports exhaust on the Pure seems to have come down in price. It's now £1,380, I'm sure it was previously over £1,400 but can't rememver the exact figure.- Price increase of 1,100 EUR on the Pure/A110 (German pricelist)

Specifying a new GT model up to the same accessories/options as my Légende that is due to arrive next week will have, works out at an extra £3000 - which would have been far more than I could have afforded.
Interestingly, specifying a basic new A110 up to the same options appears to come in about £1000 less than my Légende will cost. Only item I couldn't add in was the Telemetrics.
But, all in all, I'm not too unhappy. The new infotainment would have been nice, but I doubt I would have ever used the extra BHP.

So, if I have a Legende on order for delivery in spring 2022, does that mean I get the GT, or a Pure optioned up to the same spec? In theory no difference except for power hike.
Just that the Autocar update said the Legende is now the GT. Quite a price difference, so in theory I have saved quite a bit?

Yeah I asked Gavin (Orpington and London West) and he said that Paris have said no, the technological gap is too high between both multimedia systems. I did ask a follow up question about whether the Hardware could be switched and if Alpine would offer the new power map and retain warranty (I'm assuming the answer will be no but no harm in asking!Gassing Station | Alpine | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
