I'm in Lille, and picked this up in a newsagents:

Translating it will keep me busy, no doubt...

Does anyone actually know what the difference is between the Eibach A110 lowering springs, and the LifeA110 lowering springs made by eibach actually is?

They would seem to be very similar on the face of it...

The Life110s are 18 mm lower all around.
The Eibach ones are -25 mm in the front and -20mm in the rear.
The Eibach ones are tole to be softer compared to the Life110s.

Oh and the Eibach ones can be fitted in Germany

Given the rapturous reception the 911 Dakar got, does anyone know how to lift the A110?

Easiest way would probably be to convince Alpine to make this:

Yup. I'd have had one of those if it was at all sensibly priced.

If Porsche can only make a business case for it at £173k and 2500 units then I think it's going to be very challenging for Alpine to put theirs into production. I would love one though.

Finally got my car back -7weeks wait for a fuel pump and even then only after escalation!

Picked it up in the evening when dark but realised next day they hadn't even washed it after a 7week delay!

Who did you escalate to if you don’t mind me asking? Mine’s been off the road since June and I’ve tried Seb Brechon but he’s not answering my emails banghead

7 weeks? Which dealer was that with? Mine was recently off the road for 2 weeks waiting for the new model fuel pump but they had 3 of the old ones on the shelf

@s111dpc and worldwidewebs
Yes Seb intervened and raised it with Renault France, he answered emails but I never managed to speak to him. The dealer was Alpine Orpington. The service manager there was excellent at escalating independently too.
I think they had a backlog of other Renaults needing spares such that they became priority as lots of other parts came in on the same shipment (albeit it took about 4 days to get these through the uk ports due to brexit issues)

I hate to ask but are there any examples of reported problems with the new fuel pumps?

There have been at leat a couple of new designs. The latest one is very recent (guessing at a couple of months at most) so I would assume none with this one.

6 way comfort sports seats are a bit squeaky lately. Will need some oil I guess during the next service
Had the same issue with comfort seats; fixed by dealer.

I had planned to have Life 110 Eibach springs fitted, getting the Geo done for them and putting spacers on them.
However, as it turned out during the fitting (yes, the front springs were already on), the Life springs do not have TÜV certificate to be fitted legally in Germany, not even with an individual inspection. Even the french reseller Mecaparts (sells the springs in continental Europe) was unaware of the fact.

So the springs came off again, spacers were not fitted and I just got the Life110 geo settings for the regular suspension.
David and Mecaparts were super nice and helpful and mecaparts will refund the cost of the springs.
However I think it is very unfortunate this was not communicated properly wehen buying the springs (as even Mecaparts was unaware of the fact you cannot have the Life springs fitted in Germany legally) and having the front springs fitted and removed from the car still cost me 300€ in labor.

Will look for alternatives now but super disappointed I did not get my car in the desired spec.

So to keep it short: You cannot have the Life110 Springs fitted to a German A110 if you want to use it on the road. : (
Makes me sad for the other great aero stuff David is doing as I will most likely not be able to have it fitted to my car.
Just wondering; how will the German TUV know, that you have Life110 springs under your car? The standard springs on the Alpine are also made from Eibach. So why don't you just scratch off the Life110 logo on the springs and keep the Eibach logo? Who will know or notice the difference between the original Alpine (Eibach) springs and Life110 (Eibach) springs? The people at the TUV or MOT are not dedicated Alpine specialists?

With an Emira on order and becoming more disillusioned with that whole situation.

I have been driving the rivals with an eye to change if I like one more than the Emira.

Went and had a drive yesterday of one of these strange French things that I have heard so much about. Especially reading on here for a while as a Alpine lurker fan.

Wasn't entirely sure what to expect having not driven anything like it before. Long story short what an awesome little car!

Had a go in a A110S as I want to do some track days as well as daily drive, also just fancied having 300bhp in a light car. I just loved the way the thing went down the road was so easy to drive and so much fun.

Few small downers boots kind of hoped they would be a little bigger, in sport mode the overrun thing is fun but then a little annoying with every single lift off. Found my self knocking it out of sport every time I slowed down even for 2 secs to get it to stop.

Really on fence about the interior I like the design but some of the switches are definitely out of my brother in laws 500 quid Clio I have been teaching him to drive in laugh Not sure how I feel about that.

Is the infotainment any good or does everyone just use CarPlay?

Conclusion went in expecting to like the drive and not much else, ruling it out as my daily. Found my self speccing and going through numbers. Coming out 12k less than an Emira and being able to have one in April all help. Getting serious anxiety about which way to turn as I really liked it.

Totally lived up to the hype and really glad I went for a test drive. Even if I decide against it you all have an amazing car.

I've had a 2022 A110 (which has the updated infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) since late April and driven it approx. 10,000 km so far.

I use Android Auto most of the time and the infotainment works well when using it. However when using the cars own infotainment it doesn't feel that quick to respond to commands. I have also found the radio reception not that good on the rare occasions when using radio. I'm however based in Finland and we don't have DAB so things might be different in UK in that respect.

I have the optional (on base model A110) Focal system without subwoofer. In my opinion the sound quality is quite alright but nothing spectacular.

Even though the infotainment might not be top quality, I highly recommend the car anyway. I've enjoyed it so far.

I'm in exactly the same position. Put a deposit down on a base edition i4 Emira last summer and I totally get what you mean about the Alpine. With the Emira being forever delayed, I've ordered an Alpine and it's now built and it awaiting transit over to the UK. Hopefully I will have it before the end of the year.

The Emira is due to built in October, so I still have time to dither about it a little bit longer, but I'm hoping the Alpine gets under my skin and I don't miss the Lotus.

Have either of you driven the Evora?

I know that Lotus claim it's a different car, but same engine, same weight, same manual gearbox, basically the same dimensions.

It may be worth driving one and ignoring the interior and looks and seeing if you like it. I personally preferred the fun playful nature of the Alpine so went with it and no regrets.

No need the timing of my test drives is because I am finally driving the Emira in a week or 2. Wanted to drive the Cayman and A110 before I drove the Emira.

Plus Evo magazine rated the Evora higher than the Emira in a head to head. All personal of course but doesn’t fill with confidence.
