Aero kit isn’t available anymore for the S. Production reserved for the R for now, same as the carbon roof.
Both may come back in the future.
Glad I ordered mine before all the carbon bits went away !
Interesting! No limits on the R so I do wonder how many they will build! Both may come back in the future.

Collected new toy from Martins in Winchester yesterday... A110GT in abyss blue. She's been fully PPF'd by Konings, and I had a dechrome by replacing the badges with black, which some might think of as a downgrade, but suits my taste better with the dark blue (if I'd gone for a lighter colour, I'd have stuck with chrome). Very happy indeed, thank you all for your tips getting me this far.

I wonder if mine is there yet. I requested a delivery date in about 3 weeks. Still haven't been told the car has arrived at the dealership though. It's been in Bristol since 15th December

A lot of people in those comments that haven't realised that cars are expensive now. The Emira base price is more expensive and you can't buy it yet, the GR86 has less power, significantly more weight and again you can't buy it because it's sold out. The Cayman is the only (?) real competitor, and considering Porsche have significantly more resources, to be lighter and as good or better to drive for ~9% more base price? That's some achievement I think.Plus, a 540i Touring in a good spec is like £70k+. Cars are just bloody expensive now!

In another thread someone told me that we've had a good run in the UK, cars are about 20% cheaper here than in Europe, so I looked for myself on some European websites and they certainly weren't wrong. Some of them were close to double the price it was crazy.Plus, a 540i Touring in a good spec is like £70k+. Cars are just bloody expensive now!
Also same in USA it seems:

The A110 perfectly fills a ‘gap’, interesting when you look at Emira vs Cayman as they appear a close match don’t they ?
Yes, cars are a lot cheaper in the UK compared to most European countries. Some are not too bad, such as Belgium where the tax is lower. However in The Netherlands a GR86 will set you back almost 70K Euro! Compare that to the original UK asking price of 30K GBP. A top of the range MX-5 will cost you 52.5K Euro... We are ripped off with high taxes on C02 omissions and on top if that, a 'luxury' tax to boot. You really don't want to know what a new Morgan Super 3 costs; somewhere in the region of 80K Euro for a toy. Real shame. But at least the roads are not crumbling; just filled with steep speed bumps, speed camera's everywhere, and a 100KPH speed limit until 7pm. C'est la vie! Now you know why bikes are the transport of choice in NL....

Now you've put it like that, if taxes were to increase in the UK I'd much prefer it to go in to a direction of a use tax, whether that's a tax on fuel, congestion charge or motorway tolls. At least then the roads will be quieter.

Back in the day, I did some work for the DfT on Road User Charging, and it feels like an inevitability to move away from a fixed rate road tax to a time/location usage model. With the phase-out of new ICE cars proposed by 2030, there's probably no point in building a national infrastructure to track vehicles through ANPR etc., it would make more sense to integrate with vehicles' on-board telematics, with 'historic' vehicles having the option of a fixed-fee tax or OBD-II based black box. Still huge civil liberties implications to overcome, plus working out how to prevent exclusion/discrimination for minority users, and how to detect avoidance/fraud, but 10 years from now we'll most likely be charged for road use depending on where we drive and when, overlaid with an emissions factor. At least then the roads will be quieter.

If the weather is good I'll take her out this weekend for a spin, and I'll re-try the source options. The thing is I never listen nor select the radio source options (AM/FM/DAB). I only ever select the other media source options and then select bluetooth for TIDAL or for internet radio. But every time I stop the car and re-start it, I get the AM Radio option back by default, and never the AUX. I'll have another go to try to work out what's going on.
Coming back to the irritation of the older infotainment system defaulting to AM when you re-start the car; even though you were on Bluetooth when you shut down the engine. I finally spent some time going through the manuals during my spin in the car today, and playing around with the menu options. Here's what I found:- BCR is indeed correct; if you select AUX but then immediately select (and stay on) Bluetooth; the car defaults to AUX when you re-start the car - so, no annoying (radio) static noises! I have also placed AUX on "Quiet' mode for good measure, not sure what that means nor what "Normal" mode means for AUX though...
- Alex and others, also correct - by simultaneously moving the plus/minus controls towards you (on media source unit attached under the steering wheel) you go directly on MUTE. It's instant and very easy and handy.
So, no battery issues at all so far.

Is flashing your headlights/waving at another Alpine a thing? It happens in the classic car world, but I'm not sure of Alpine etiquette. What's the view on here?
100% a thing. I generally give several flashes and if I have time, wave like a lunatic, because I'm so excited.Gassing Station | Alpine | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
