Thanks, I will have a look next time I'm in the car, that does sound like an improvement....
Here is the Alpine multimedia user guide for cars 2022 onwards:
https://www.e-guide.alpinecars.com/sites/default/f...

On section "Add and manage widgets" starting from page 19 (section 1.12) are those instructions on how to add tiles (ie. widgets) on the infotainment system.

Team,

Over the festival period I was thinking it may be an idea to summarise the most used / useful generic content Threads we have currently - and to encourage new and old Alpine Pistonheads to stick to them as far as possible. i.e. to avoid further proliferation of the forum site, and as a useful guide to newcomers. Thought it would be worth a try. Most of the titles are self-explanatory. So, here goes:

  • Alpine A110 Owners (the main and original thread)
  • The A110 Photo thread (for showing off your cars)
  • New A110 Owners (could also be used to address potential new owners)
  • Fuel Pumps fails in current production (fuel pump issues, queries, updates)
  • The A110 Wheels thread (inc alternatives)
  • Suspension Upgrade Options
  • All Things Tuning Upgrade
  • Using the A110 Tips and Tricks
  • A110R Radical
  • Seats - oh Gawd (queries on seat heights, types, pros, con's)
  • All Things Infotainment
  • Alpine App Help (queries on the app)
  • Alpine Centre Servicing Costs (also info on specialists)

Now including two additional threads I initially over-looked, and which look useful to capture in the summary of most useful, commonly used threads:

That is a good idea. Like it's been discussed earlier, it would be good if this mega-thread would die and no new messages would be posted to it. I've actually asked info@pistonheads.com if they could lock this thread altogether. I don't expect them to take action but doesn't hurt to try.

Here is additional version of the topics which Meonstoke posted but this time with direct links to each topic to make it easier to find them:

The A110 Photo thread (for showing off your cars)
New A110 Owners (could also be used to address potential new owners)
Fuel Pumps fails in current production (fuel pump issues, queries, updates)
The A110 Wheels thread (inc alternatives)
Suspension Upgrade Options
All Things Tuning Upgrade
Using the A110 Tips and Tricks
Interior Storage & Luggage Solutions
Atelier Colours
A110R Radical
Seats - oh Gawd (queries on seat heights, types, pros, con's)
All Things Infotainment
Alpine App Help (queries on the app)
Alpine Centre Servicing Costs (also info on specialists)

And I’ve added two of my own topics to the list which might be useful:
The A110 road trip topic
A110 winter storage – tips?

I was wondering if anyone has removed the sounds being induced into the cabin, which is all the rage these days to boost the engine / exhaust noise.

For me though, it's all a bit fake, and I'm thinking of blocking it off. The neatest solution I've seen so far is by MP Rezeau, and they claim a reduction in lag as a side benefit. See link below.

I'm interested to learn from folks who have cut off the resonance being pumped into their Alpine, and what they think of the end result achieved. Thanks.

If the intention is to direct people to ask questions regarding seats, brakes, tyres etc in the relevant threads, it could be a good idea to add these links in both the first post of this thread and a sticky thread at the top of the forum as a 'read before you post' topic.

Yes I’ve done it. No noticeable reduction in lag whatsoever but I prefer it overall. Sounds more muted in general and just a bit more refined.

I always thought I would remove the pipe soon after starting to drive an A110 as on test drives it seemed a bit loud. I now find there's a nice quiet exhaust burble in normal mode and I may be a child but the wastegate noise is very enjoyable. Those are the only two sounds I'm aware of hearing via the pipe, both at quite low volume and presume both would be gone with the deletion?

The only noise I would mute is the turbo at moderate revs, as honestly it sounds like Henry the hoover until you rev it out and the engine sound takes over.

It makes me sad that manufacturers do this. The worst was the BMW pumped through the speakers.

But I also learned that Jaguar do it too and I have it on my XJR which explains why the sound instantly changes about 4,000rpm.

Even the F-type has it:

I agree with playing fake sound through speakers. I think running an additional pipe from the intake system, which can give genuine sonic feedback if you want it is a nice option.

I was very pleased to hear that Alpine will not be pumping fake ICE noise through the speakers of the A290, will be interesting to see what they do...

You still get the turbo noises, in fact on full boost there’s much more of a whooshing boost noise because of the lack of the sound pipe loudness.

In principle I agree with that. BUT, I have to say I like the fake noise the GR Yaris makes - but not the din the GR86 makes (but it is trivial to disable it).

Fake noise bad but a pipe to pipe the actual noise surely no bad thing.

Are you interested in selling the parts of the sound resonator that you’ve removed? I’d like to add this to my car.

That would be good. The problem, however, is that it would require actions from the forum moderators/admins and I have no idea who they are and how to contact them. As far as I see, the only way to contact Pistonheads is to send an email to info@pistonheads.com. I've send an email to that address to ask for this topic to be closed but they haven't responded.

One thing we should still be able to do without moderators is to add that list of topics to the first post of this topic. The person who wrote the first message on this topic should be able to edit his first message to do that. That person is s111dpc, so if he/she would be willing to do that, then that would be great.

Another thing each one of us can also do is to stop posting messages to this thread. Please, try to find a suitable existing topic for your questions/comments and if one doesn't exist, feel free to create a new topic for your question.

I like one big thread with lots of things discussed, it comes up easily in ‘My Stuff’ and every so often I’ll learn something I didn’t know before that I might not have otherwise learned if it was in another thread that I almost certainly wouldn’t click on.

If it becomes a hassle I’m sure people will post in it less and less, I don’t think there’s a need to force the issue smile

No, sorry would like to keep to be able to revert back if I were to sell in future.
