Does anyone else get random beeps in the car when travelling? It's not the parking sensors, it's a lower tone, although they're another issue altogether - sometimes they're so quiet as to be barely audible.

I also had a strange one yesterday whereby the music I was listening too via Carplay didn't stop when I shut down the ignition and opened the door, as usual, but carried on playing until I was out, had shut the door and continued up to the point I locked the car when it finally quieted. Very weird.

The most common noise I get is for speed or traffic light cameras.

There are none on my normal daily commute so it always surprises when I do hear it.

Keith.

Ah, could be. Occasionally I've thought it has happened as I've passed one of those smiley/frowny LED speed indicators. Other times it seems to be very random. Is that a feature of the built in sat-nav then? I've never looked at it, let alone used it.

Does it correlate to when you are approaching a fixed speed camera location? (See the 'All Things Infotainment' thread.)

I got the same when I picked up my Alfa Giulia, turns out the Tom Tom system emits a beep whenever the car approaches a speed camera, even if it’s not being used. My journey was in a new car from Slough to Worthing, so mostly on a motorway. Very unnerving until I worked out what the pings were. There are lots of cameras on the motorways now, so good to know when one is coming up! I love that it pings me, although I never use the inbuilt system as I use Waze on Car Play. Hence my interest in trying to sort Car Play on the 2018 Alpine I am buying.

My car is coming up to 1 year old and while shopping about for insurance quotes, which in the main seem more reasonable than last year, I had a comedy moment from Adrian Flux who thought £1419 might be of interest!

Anyone beat that belter?
A bounce from the archives but yes I can.

Whilst investigating premiums on my upcoming Alpine purchase the AA quoted £2450. Older driver, (ancient in fact) South coast, 9 years+ NCD, and car garaged.

Went with Aviva at £489. Annoyingly online only, no telephone contact allowed other than an accident claim.

The variance on quotes was amazing. Been with Direct Line for years with no claims but they outright refused to insure the car at all and nothing to do with age.

Hi there

So I having test driven an A110 and A110S with very helpful Alpine dealers my thoughts in a nutshell was:

A110 - beautiful ride, mega comfy and a superb road car but not quite as tied down as I hoped, a little too much lean.
A110S - Everything I wanted, though a little too firm on certain roads, but the positives outweigh negatives.

As such I placed a deposit on this A110S Aero today after negotiating for several days, got a great deal in the end which I am very happy with. smile

Maybe the previous owner is on here, as its a one owner car, only 2300 miles with pretty much every option. smile

I changed my "landing page" on the telemetrics to show oil and water temps and trigger it each time I drive. I don't use the infotainment for music so it's just nice having the info on temperatures. Not that I'm thrashing it around everywhere all the time but it is nice to know where it is in temps before I do start having a bit more fun
How do you set this up, I’d like to do it? I have a 2018 PE with Telematics.

Thanks!

Edit - ignore, I have worked it out, it was very simple.

I am old school and like to be able to see coolant and oil temps at a glance smile

Joined the club recently thanks to Alpine Manchester - absolutely loving the car! Of course the first thing I had to do was take it on a (careful...) B-road blast around Cumbria & the Borders. Would upload some pics but anti-spam rules...

I have the weirdest problem though that even Alpine say they've never seen before - my rear boot is stuck shut. As in totally stuck. Doesn't matter what I do/press, it simply does not open. It worked fine on pickup and ever since then just totally stuck. Going in to the service team to see if they can fix it, utterly odd....

We had this problem. Alpine Orpington fixed it with a trim removal tool. A coat had got caught in the mechanism.

I think we have seen this particular problem on this or other forum. In that case it was something jammed in the lock - easily to do if you don't particular care when closing the boot.
