Thank you for your responses. Had a look at Admiral. Quite surprized to get a quote back of c£580 for both cars. Less than £200 for my 355 and c£350 for the Alpine. Does that sound about right? Working on it being garaged, 5k miles a year.

Think it depends on where you live, age etc. But my S was £220 for the year with Admiral on 6k miles.

Curiously you might well find it a tad cheaper if you keep the car on the drive. Bizarre, I know.

For the people who have a pre 2020 Alpine A110 and want the improved cooling feature from the newer wheel arch liners (that are fitted from 2020 models). I did the modification my self as a winter project. Just order the bigger grilles (two) and (cut) fit them in the existing front wheel arches. The uprated items on the 2020 A110's are exactly the same and also cut, but done in the factory (see pic of blue test car @ Alpine dealer).

Could you quote us the price please.

Out if interest when was the first model update ? Our car was 1st registered 1st January 2020, not sure how I work out if this still one of the first batch or will it have some things corrected / picked up already ? Is this an easy check ?

Cheers smile

Honestly; I bought the bigger grilles last summer (to cut/fit in winter) and I forgot the exact price. I must have been ok for the price, otherwise I would not have bought them wink As stated; I did fitment myself, the first one a little bit a search how you do it best and the second one is far more easy.

I used this to cut into the wheel arch:

This probably a car produced in 2019 and is one of the second batch (same batch as ours). Some minor upgrades (improvements) over the Premiere Edition. But nothing serious or visual that you would notice. Yours will also still have the first generation of wheel arch with the smaller cooling grille.

Thanks for that. Do you just need the grills you show or the other plastic bit for modification?

You need the left and right grill, 18 rivets (also from Alpine) and a rivet gun (10euro in a home depot shop). Then you need time and patience to cut the bigger holes in your current wheel arch for the new grill to fit behind it (you fix everything with the rivets). I used a thin red marker to draw the area of the new grille on my wheel arch, then I started with the cutter to create the new opening.

Sorry if this has been asked before? Any recommendations for insurance. Got a Legend GT coming in March. Can't wait (any other Legend GT owners out there?).

I'm lucky to have a F355 as well and the insurance on that is due for renewal in March. Any companies do multi car policy on both maybe?

Cheers.
Is your car on track for delivery date?
I'm waiting to hear about mine - it was due to go into production this week, but I've heard maybe some delay.
Not a GT, but a Legend, atelier colour.

Morning,

I had an email from Tim at Alpine Solihull telling me it was due to leave the factory on the 17th Feb so should be ready for collection mid March. Tim's now furloughed though so won't know if this has changed till he's back in. Can't wait but not sure where i'll be able to go in it!! 2 mile commute to work isn't much fun!!

It’s worth the wait smile

One thing I’m really enjoying is the steering wheel: it’s really tactile and all the different facets seem to be perfectly shaped and in just the right places.

Anybody know if you can dim the dash / interior lighting at night though? I find the illuminated gear selectors particularly bright and distracting in the dark, especially as you barely need them once on the move.

I can dim the multimedia display but not the dash / instruments...

I see that most A110 are fitted with 18 inch wheels and upgraded brakes. Does anyone have comparative experience of the standard Pure on 17 inch rims and standard brakes. Living in the countryside and around some very poor roads my ideal spec includes the 17 inch standard wheels but can find very little on how different they ride. There's very little chance I'll track the car and would be keen to do some Euro road trips in it so long distance motorway cruise comfort is just as important as hairpin handling.
Also, on the configurator there doesn't seem to be an option for the telematics - is this standard on all models?

Finally, what is people's experience of current lead times if an order was placed around about now? I'm torn between ordering new or finding an ideal spec used at 12-18 months old. Given the minimal depreciation and my hope to keep it long term I'm leaning towards new.

Thanks

Mine runs on 18's and has the bigger brakes, ride comfort is not bad at all, nothing like my previous Audi.

I would buy the ones you like the look of most or even get the Life110 evo Corse ones. They are tempting.

I did a test drive in a Legende, and tried a PE at Piste Bleue, and both rode well. My car is a Pure with 17s; once the tyres are knocked down from delivery pressure to normal I'd say it's just a smidge more compliant - but the ride on 18s certainly isn't harsh. And it was a long time between trying 18s and having mine, so I can't be too confident about the differences.

I've not done much mileage in mine but the standard brakes have been fine for me - I don't plan on going on track at all.

Personally I also think the 17s look best - they still look pretty huge and the tyres look very low profile to me.

Really you'd need to back-to-back the 17s and 18s to be sure, which is no help at all - sorry!

Ordered mine on standard 17's with standard brakes, have a MX5 for track, less worry if something gets bent...
Telemetetrics still a £264 option, not standard, just not on web configurator.
Placed order end of Dec, still awaiting a delivery date. ;-(

No direct experience, but just possibly worth highlighting that the 'big' brakes are only a disc upgrade, and from a solid hat (on the small disc) to a floating hat (on the large disc) at that. It's therefore likely that the increase in brake mass itself isn't all that large. However, the wheel and tyre mass increase is quite likely to be around 2kg per corner. Given that and the potentially better impact protection from the taller sidewall, 17s still ought to ride better - by how much though would ideally need a back to back. Very few complaints of ride on the 18s, mind...

Not sure my lead time experience is useful, but I put a deposit down in May 2020, and am looking at (hopefully) late April 2021 delivery. Factors affecting this are a) Covid (factory was shut and dealer furloughed when I ordered) and b) having chosen an Atelier colour - so probably very much a worst case. Four months was the original estimate (when things were running smoothly), order a standard colour and it can't be much more than this currently?
