Alpine A110 owners
Discussion
Thanks for the insight. I tested a dealer demo on 18s and as you say, the ride wasn't harsh. I guess it's just that every car I've had has been improved no end day to day by swopping wheels from the optioned larger ones to the smaller standard ones despite them looking a bit less attractive. On the configurator, images of the 17's don't make the car look under-wheeled though, they are still quite big for a small car.
Useful to know about the telemetries. Wonder why that isn't on the configurator?

It’s worth the wait
One thing I’m really enjoying is the steering wheel: it’s really tactile and all the different facets seem to be perfectly shaped and in just the right places.
Anybody know if you can dim the dash / interior lighting at night though? I find the illuminated gear selectors particularly bright and distracting in the dark, especially as you barely need them once on the move.
I can dim the multimedia display but not the dash / instruments...

In terms of dimming the dash, you need the lights on I think - press the up or down button on the end on of the right hand stalk until you get to night brightness on the display and then adjust with the end of the left hand stalk.

I found the “night brightness” option but it didn’t seem adjustable - though the lights were probably on Auto at the time. I’ll give that a try...

Morning,
I had an email from Tim at Alpine Solihull telling me it was due to leave the factory on the 17th Feb so should be ready for collection mid March. Tim's now furloughed though so won't know if this has changed till he's back in. Can't wait but not sure where i'll be able to go in it!! 2 mile commute to work isn't much fun!!

I'm another supposed to be March delivery patiently waiting, mines a Pure though.
Afternoon, So I got an update - current eta pushed back 3 -4 months, but that might improve...
Was to be built around now, but looking at end May ex-factory
This might not apply to all orders, I don’t know

You can change the night brightness on the dash and separate on the sat nav screen. Don't put night brightness to low, because even sometimes during the day (when it's cloudy) suddenly your dash can switches from day to night settings (and otherwise it will be too dark to read in night mode). Understood - thanks. It’s actually the illuminated gear selector buttons in the centre console that I find most distracting - though the dash is also a bit bright at night. The other night I was out and I just covered them with my woolly hat, but that’s not ideal...!domrusty said:

Correct; that's why (at first) I put the night brightness rather low (when driving at night). Then I discovered that the A110 switches rather fast to night mode (cloudy days) and I could not see the dash correctly during the day so I increased night brightness a little more for these moments. domrusty said:

Sorted - thanks guys Turned the night brightness down a couple of clicks and good to see it affects the centre console too.footsoldier said:

Hmmm, I'd had Feb 17th for factory exit too for a long while - although Tim did get an update to late March just before he was furloughed. Perhaps worth chasing up tomorrow. Would be a bit miffed were it delayed again...So I got an update - current eta pushed back 3 -4 months, but that might improve...

The configurator is a bit fragile currently for some reason - I can't recreate my ordered spec without it crashing these days!Useful to know about the telemetries. Wonder why that isn't on the configurator?

It looks bloomin’ gorgeous with the black roof. But I feel these sorts of very striking colour schemes don’t age well. The Alpine Blue is always going to look classy.
I was tempted by the yellow Colour Edition but it was only available in the S and with the carbon roof it was working out to be quite a bit more expensive.

I saw the Color Edition in real life also...not my taste and in my country they sold zero Colour Edition's, but they did sell a couple of those really classy Legende GT cars. Those are awesome I was tempted by the yellow Colour Edition but it was only available in the S and with the carbon roof it was working out to be quite a bit more expensive.
