Cool - that’s good to hear. I’ll start with the geometry changes - including getting them checked... Springs may happen later, especially if I get in the habit of doing a few track days after COVID 19 is under control.
If you want to do trackdays in the future...then you will certainly like the springs (but also on fast mountain drives it can be a nice extra). r1chardh said:
That collecting cars example is at £38,750 with approx 3 hours remaining.

Promise it's nothing to do with me, I just find it an interesting indicator of where the market roughly is. They tend to shoot up over the last few minutes - every time there is a bid the timer adds 2 minutes, so it's a little less frantic than ebay.
Sold at that, interesting. About £41k all in with fee.https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2019-alpine-a1...

I’m also still getting used to the car but keen to try the geometry changes at some point. My only issue with the standard car is it feels a bit nervous and fidgety just holding a straight line at motorway speeds. Hardly a big deal as I mostly avoid motorways and take the scenic route, but I’d be interested to know if the geo changes would improve that. What do you think Franzino?
Hi, better late than never I have just found this thread! I had the geo done on my PE by the excellent Andy at W London and whilst it certainly made the steering feel sharper my sense is that the m-way stability seems no better. GVO said:

Ah - thanks for that. I’m not too bothered as I didn’t buy the car to sit on a motorway - I’d have kept the XK for that... Good to know what to expect though.

Something very odd going on with straightline stability. There are clearly some people who have issues. The first port of call are the tyre pressures - cars using the economy settings are a very bad idea - but I imagine most who have had the car for some time will have found that out. The A110 Life geo settings are said to improve matters.I haven't tried the Pook settings (but I will) and my car has been carefully adjusted to standard. BUT I DO NOT have a stability problem - even in high crosswinds at Autobahn speeds. I am not going to say the stability is as absolute as on my previous Cayman, but it's absolutely fine - even my wife has no complaints. All very odd.

I’ve not even checked the tyre pressures to be fair!I haven't tried the Pook settings (but I will) and my car has been carefully adjusted to standard. As with motorbikes that would be a good place to start. Like I said, it’s not bothering me at all but it would be interesting to see how much difference tyre pressure settings make...

Quite a lot of cars have been delivered with "transit" tyre pressures - which are even higher than economy ones. Straight line stability is seriously affected running at those pressures - and it doesn't do the ride any favours either. Absolutely the first thing to check. As with motorbikes that would be a good place to start. Mine came with transport pressure - ie rock hard. Knocking it down to the handbook pressures had a significant effect on the ride in particular, but also seemed to improve grip and handling in general, and I think there was a bit more steering feel too.
Not certain but I think it came at 5psi over the handbook pressure all round...

I can imagine that would make a difference on such a light car. Certainly would on a motorcycle... I’ve just ordered a pressure gauge with a flexible hose as the one I use for the bikes is the wrong shape. Am curious now...!Not certain but I think it came at 5psi over the handbook pressure all round...

Shouldn't the dealer supplying the car be checking the tyre pressures before you drive off? The most basic of checks. Not certain but I think it came at 5psi over the handbook pressure all round...

They certainly should - it didn't occur to me that they wouldn't have. Then again, the local-ish Ford dealer once delivered a car on a 28°C day with the aircon and fans not working, and that came with a bazillion-point checklist, all ticked...
