My I present the latest in my line of A110 accessories: the A110 Essentials Pouch!

It's a 3D printed frame with an elasticated denim pouch assembled around it. It's perfect for slotting your phone and wallet into when driving.

Not available in shops! tongue out

Unfortunately for shortarses like me there is no space to put it because the seat is too far forward. The space under the "flying buttress" is also inaccessible for us shorties too for the same reason.

It goes on the passenger side! My car is left-hand drive — placed on the driver's side, it'd be under my legs and pretty hard to get to anyway. There's actually some room there as well — the seat slides straight past it!

Ah - the steering wheel isn't in viiew. However the same applies on the other side for me - my OH is short and likes the footrest. Anyway we need as many options as we can get given the abysmal lack of standard storage.

I tried to get something to make the cupholder actually useful and fancied this.

However, to cut a VERY long story short I finished up getting one of these

It's brilliant - as you can see from the from the lower picture, if you rotate the base, rubberised fingers emerge so you can ensure that it grips the existing hole very firmly and doesn't rattle.

Nicely done....! Personally I always keep my wallet in my pocket (small wallet) and I put my phone on my phone holder (that I modified a little bit, to fit the Alpine). The build-in multimedia (sat nav) is totally crap, so I use my phone for most of all navigation purposes and need it in range.

To store some stuff (out of sight from thieves but in range from hands), we placed the velcro Alpine storage box behind the rear seat...to fit sunglasses, or a small drink bottle. That's is it.. Everything else (car papers, insurance, wheel bolt locks) are stored in the rear trunk. What now seems like a bad idea; because the rear trunk is broken and will not open anymore (yes we did try everything possible). Luckely the trunk stopped working (I think the lock broke) when there was no fresh food or laptop also trapped inside (otherwise it needed to be cut open). My iPad will also need to live their for the rest of Corona periode...and some time after.

That's a real bummer. Had a quick look at mine to see if I could spot a way in. Nothing obvious. It must be via the rear number plate light or its housing - or someone has dropped off big time.

An A110 is up there on my 'next car' list. But does anyone know if there's a way of spec'ing the 17 inch wheels with comfort seats? One's an option only on the Pure, the other appears only on the Legende.

Not possible now but when the Pure/Legende cars were first imported after the P/E I think it was possible to spec the comfort seats on the Pure car. I'd guess there might be a handful of so equipped Pure's but I would be astounded if anyone did in conjunction with the 17" wheels as well.

Cheers. I've had my fill of big wheels on various cars and actually would really prefer the 17's. My intent would be to take it on some longer road trip stuff so thinking the fixed seats might be a little uncomfortable over distance / time. No real grounds to make that assumption thought to be fair.

I've got a Pure with the fixed seats and 17" wheels; the seats are very comfortable in spite of having no padding and seem to fit different heights very well; my mate who is 6'3" fitted happily behind the wheel with headroom to spare. I'd suggest you get to an Alpine centre and have a sit in both kinds of seats; on balance I preferred the fixed (lower, lighter, not leather) but only you will know. I wouldn't worry about long distance with them either.

Re 17" wheels, I couldn't see the (financial) point of the 18" wheels and it will lead you down the path to even more expense - bigger brakes and then the sports exhaust as you've started the ball rolling - I can't really compare the ride or handling between the two wheel sizes and I'm only just finished running it in but the 17's have possibly slightly more flex than the 18's and perhaps the sense of less grip. That suits me; overall it's hardly lacking for grip or grunt. I also think it still looks great on 17's and that it doesn't need 18's.

I can’t speak for the 17” rims as I went for the S which comes with 18’s as standard, but as far as the bucket seats are concerned they are very comfortable and I’ve not felt that adjustables would have been better. As a comparison I had buckets on my three previous Lotus and the Alpines’s are more comfortable and feel more secure.

Thanks - your's looks great. They are such a neat design in my view. Is anyone doing any 'normal' mileages in theirs? The few that have come back onto the second hand market are mostly tiny-mileage examples (2-4000 miles ish). For such a drivable car, I'd hope there are a decent amount of people racking up 10k a year or more in them without issue.

Plenty. I have spoken to a few PE owners who had already got to 12k miles last year.

Finally got mine in for its first service at Solihull yesterday after 2 months sorn. Noticed when refitting the battery cover prior to leaving (it was on CTEK) that it had warped on the driver's side and no longer fitted properly. Alpine are replacing under warranty, but thought I'd mention it here as another 'quirk' to look out for.

My Alpine dealer was able to order me a second set of wheels for my winter tyres (Sweden) without issue. It might be worth chatting to your dealer about it — they might be able to order you a set of the 17" wheels as a regular "accessory" purchase. Figuring out what to do with your 18" wheels and tyres would be another thing, mind.

I’m on almost 15k. Never planned on this mileage as it’s meant to be a toy but it is so much fun and a great place to be. Touch wood no issues yet.

I’ve used it on long motorway runs and it’s really quite relaxed in 7th. Fixed seats are superb.

After well over a year since I parted company with my 718 Cayman its official replacement has arrived in the form of PE No.1178!

The delay has been due to numerous reasons, from selling a business to starting a new business to Covid-19...etc, but a few weeks ago I took the opportunity of offloading my 'temporary' MINI privately and buy the attractively priced PE from an independent.

So last Tuesday PE No.1178 was delivered to my drive and I finally became a A110 owner, since then I've added roughly 500 miles to the already relevantly high 14k on the clock in a mix of blistering heat & torrential rain and loved every second. Yes, there are some quirks / compromise or 'character' depending on your view point but so far I've no regrets in not returning to the Porsche fold.

Buying used brings with it some minor niggles such as a few scuffs on the wheels and the odd stone chip but this will give me a few little jobs to do over the coming weeks.

I've already bought the twin cup holder recommended by bcr5784 above and I will be making some improvements courtesy of https://life110.co.uk/ soon, the plus of buying used being that with only just over 12 months of warranty left I can throw caution to the wind and not be too precious with her.

As my daily driver there will be some big miles covered over the next few years in all weathers and carrying out all kinds of duties, I'm looking forward to every drive being an 'event'.
