Mine was meant to be a toy but it’s just so much fun that it is used at every opportunity.
Even nearly 20.000 miles in it still brings a smile to my face when I go out in it. It is still an event: familiarity brings confidence in using it rather than boredom
I know that’s what I’ll end up doing. My daily commute round trip is 50 miles a day. Even nearly 20.000 miles in it still brings a smile to my face when I go out in it. It is still an event: familiarity brings confidence in using it rather than boredom
After commuting a smart whilst doing the house I deserve this think I’ll sell that and see what next winter brings and buy another turd through the winter.
Nice to hear they’re not all garage queens and some being used Mr Miserablegit.
You get your wiper cap thing sorted?
I've used mine for 300 miles and whilst I think you would need a second car with space for holidays/tip runs/motorways I think this makes an ideal daily car for everything else. Much easier now everything is online and can be delivered so there isn't any specific need to have a car with loads of space for everyday stuff.

I have used mine on tip runs - but I would accept it's not ideal. Not the best car for a trip to Ikea either. Fine for long holidays abroad or motorways though (unless you need more than 2 seats or are married to Imelda Marcos.) Would an S Class Merc be quieter and more comfortable on a motorway - sure it would. Would it be more enjoyable? I didn't find it so... Wiseguy2012 said:

Alas I’m going to have to give up on trying to get a replacement cap. After commuting a smart whilst doing the house I deserve this think I’ll sell that and see what next winter brings and buy another turd through the winter.

Continued searching means I’ve found a valeo part number for the wiper. I’ve asked my local garage to try to get me a set in. Waiting to hear but, in theory, the wipers are available from Valeo.
It has been a painful process- somebody told me the wipers were only used on the Alpine and a Mercedes SL. That led me to Mercedes Magic Vision wipers then to valeo and then to a Valeo parts catalogue...

TBH I didn't find it much fun on the motorway this morning, high winds loads of lorries it's not what this car was made for and my Discovery would have been far more comfortable. On the B roads on the way back this evening though it was perfect.Miserablegit said:
Have you checked tyre pressure and the tracking.
The cars are incredibly sensitive to set up. Some seemed a little unstable on a motorway whereas others feel more planted - although I accept nothing will feel as planted as a 2.5t Landrover in poor weather
I haven't yet although I did ask the sales exec to make sure the tech set the pressures correctly ie not transport or eco. Guess I'll have to check them tomoz. The cars are incredibly sensitive to set up. I have found it a bit nervous / fidgety on motorways but since that is the last place I’d choose to drive I’m not too bothered. Tyre pressures were within 1 psi of the recommended settings when I checked.
I believe that the Life110 geo settings may also improve that, from what I’ve read?

I think even a difference of 1psi can be noticeable.
I found the back end was behaving slightly differently and found I was 1.5psi below what I thought it was. I accept accuracy of gauges might well mean this is nonsense but all 3 recommended tyre pressures are within about 1.5psi of one another if I recall.

I guess with the A110 being so light and precise, tyre pressures may be more noticeable than on say a Golf Diesel. I’d struggle to detect 1 psi on a motorbike so I doubt I’d be able to tell the difference in a car. I’m not saying *you* wouldn’t notice though! A mate of mine used to rally at club level and he can tell all sorts of things about a car from behind the wheel. I’m just definitely not that alert...!
you are probably correct - road condition might have played more of a role.
There are certain routes I take; one being a bypass with plenty of roundabouts- when it is clear in all direction fun can be had pushing on a bit earlier in the turn. I had noticed that the back shimmied a bit more last time I exited a roundabout and so checked the pressures the next day when the tyres were cool.
Certainly sensitive to tyre pressures - although probably not to the extent I suggested for road use

A moody image as it’s horrific weather today.
I’ve never been so smitten with a car. And I’ve had many!!
I loved the extra spec - very jealous, lovely car.
Although was gutted to miss out, purchased a Legende last week but in black. Hopefully can pick up next week.
As soon as I can will post pictures.
