Afternoon chaps - less than a week to go to the C&M meet and the long term forecast looks dry with a bit of sun too

Shall we stick with 6:30am meet, I'd suggest we pull in at the 1st layby on the Cat & Fiddle road heading up from Macclesfield, it's the 1st big laby on the left on the way up about 5 mins from the lights in Macc.

GPX link for the first bit of the route down below, I don't know all the roads so if it gets a bit slow / painful we can just ping the destination into the sat nav and go via the quickest route. Looks like we might have some local knowledge via a Clio V6 we're picking up en-route. Plus a couple of other tentative surprise guests !!

I live Buxton end so will wait in the lay-by opposite the cat and fiddle pub, and tag on when you all come by.

I think the best place to meet my mate in the Clio would be the services at Uttoxeter: A50 Derby Rd, Uttoxeter ST14 5AA. If that’s ok?

We go straight through Uttoxeter so that works perfectly, I'd also value your mates view on an interesting route down. I've suggested the B5013/B5014 but don't know if they are any good, some local knowledge will be perfect.

Hi Simon,

Yep he say the b50013 and b50014 are fine, he does mention the dam wall of the reservoir is possibly worth a drive over, this is where we join the 50014 just before Abbots Bromley, it may require a little diversion to loop back round.

Can't believe a year has gone by since we did this !!

So thought I'd re-open the thread and gauge interest for a more local catch up in the North West, I'm thinking an early morning "Dawn Raid" to somewhere nice for a coffee and breakfast thus not too late back for everybody. Coffee spot and route to follow but thought I'd check interest first
