Just paid £600 to Martins Alpine in Winchester for year 5 service plus MOT test, incl VAT
That's good so that was oil and filter, cabin and pollen filter plus coolant and MOT for £600 inclusive?

My car had its 2 year service at Cardiff Alpine this morning and cost me £496

I was given pricing for the year 3 (std service and includes brake fluid) of £881

The year 4 service which also changes the gearbox oil is (gulp!) £1,042

TBH, very taken aback by how expensive this is.

Find a good independent, ie K-Tec racing. I use the one in Willenhall near Wolverhampton.
Its your choice, I choose to vote with my wallet.

Jeez, the same mechanicals in a Megane RS would be about half the price!

I live quite near K-tec and have been tempted but I the one thing that makes me go back to Alpine it the paint warranty, I have had the wheel arches done on mine at no cost and from what I hear the can need doing again.

Does the paint warranty stand if it isnt serviced at Alpine as many make insist the paint is checked regularly.

Gearbox oil change is about £100 for the oil and 15 mins to do - less if done at the same time as changing the engine oil (just in case anyone gets told it's a big job)

A law was passed years ago, if your car is serviced and all parts used are OM spec the warranty is not invalid. I have used good independents for years, Lotus and Porsche. A real mechanic and not a laptop technician, say no more!

wow, that's nearly 35% cheaper than the Cardiff dealer.

Once my car is out of warranty I'll be looking outside the dealer network for sure.

On the upside, I've been offered a service plan for the next two services, which will save me about 35% on the prices I was quoted.

Nice. 😎

Does anyone have any experience using regular Renault dealerships or even 3rd party shops? I am on the fence of buying an A110 but the nearest dealer is 70 miles away

Had the fuel pump email today so my car is booked in next Thursday for the recall, good timing (I thought !!) as I also need a service, however Alpine's quotation for the 4yr service is £936 inc of VAT. Apparently £474 Service + £83 Cabin Filter + £138 Air Filter + £241 Gear Box Oil.

I'm pleased that Alpine have emailed regarding the recall, and I'm happy to accept a premium for dealer servicing but £936 seems a tad OTT to me, plus the inconsistency across dealers appears bonkers !!

Going away to find a good indy locally is my next plan.

Air filter £138? Life110 version is £70 and less than 5 mins to fit.
Gearbox oil £241. The oil is less than £100 retail and when done as part of an engine oil change, ie undertray already off, adds another 10-15 mins
I can't believe the cabin filter is that much either

100% agree, hate saying it but I've lost the plot a bit with them, I know everything is getting more expensive and I know it's a 'premium' brand that will attract some premium costs but at these levels I think I'm out of the dealer network. I'm getting some indy quotes and will record everything with full details in the event of any warranty claims, I have 12 months left on that but will probably not extend again.

Mine is coming up to its second service. I have a ramp at home and regularly change discs, pads, oil and filter, and I've also changed the gearbox oil so know how easy it is. I'm actually thinking of just doing it myself and recording everything, especially as I have to take a day off to take it for a service so given that I'm self employed adds even more to the cost and hassle.

I just don't see the value in what they are doing

My car was serviced after 1 year/8000 miles last September. It is now on 12800 miles and I've just had a message on the dashboard telling me that it's due a service in 100 miles. Is it safe to assume that the service interval wasn't reset in September? Or might today's fuel pump replacement have overidden the service reset? There are rumours of a remap, after all.

Neither do I. No-one would bat an eyelid at a Caterham owner who did his own servicing, At the other end of the scale Porsche buyers do "demand" full Porsche dealer service history. I know from personal experience of selling both. SO, while I have no doubt that there are owners of Alpines quite capable of doing as good a job (or better?) than dealers - that might affect resale values, but probably not by as much as the saved cost. But do keep all receipts!

Where's that from ?
Am I reading it right, are years 1-6 across the top (ignoring mileages as a lot of cars are <12k miles/yr)
Quite a few of those rows don't seem right - brake fluid, air filter, coolant, spark plugs.
Either the stated mileage figure doesn't agree with the columns (assuming 1y = 12k [or less]), or the recurring cycle doesn't either.

Or am i confused ?

I am struggling to find a maintenance schedule published online.

Reason for asking, about to pick up a 3y A110, and the dealer is saying all servicing has been completed w a oil & filter change.
I'm not convinced ....

Your car should have a version of that picture with the handbook pack showing that a 3 yr old car should have had some annual checks one brake fluid three oil & filter plus three cabin filter
