Hi all
I visited Bradley at Alpine Cambridge yesterday and spoke to him about arranging a visit to the showroom one Sunday in October/November and he seemed positive about arranging an mini event and opening up for us. We spoke about the new A110 R and he hopes to be getting one for the showroom so I said that would be an ideal time to visit so we can all see the new model.

ok gang, a date to pencil in on your calendars. I have contacted Bradley at John Banks Cambridge and they are looking to arrange a meet/Drive out on Sunday 7th May for a F1 themed gathering to tie in with the Miami F1 GP. Food and drink provided etc.
In the meantime, shall we try and meet up March/April? How about Sunday 26th March which is when the clocks change?

Yes Stu. Manual Supra. Suspension a bit revised/improved from when I drove one 3 years ago and a good balance for my normal driving. More of a true GT car than my A110 GT (if that makes sense :-)).
Have a good meet up and best wishes to all.
come along to the meet anyway, we wont be too mean to you lolHave a good meet up and best wishes to all.
Hi all, weather forecast for the morning is heavy rain so I suggest we postpone meeting up to a Sunday in April. I will check weather and put up a new date.
I know a nice run which lasts about an hour starting between Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds. There is a cafe there we we could meet, do the run and then finish back at the cafe for coffee etc

My wife and I had breakfast there very early on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago. If you want an early meet with empty roads Cafe 33 would be a good choice. If you are planning to go early and need the cafe open call to confirm the time a few days ahead: Advertised opening times vary across their different media - it’s a relatively informal business - but she will open for you if she knows you’re coming.
I have a 1978 Alpine A310 with 1976 Group 5 style engine mods. It’s new to me and I’m working it up after very light use for the last 20 years. Once it’s running well and I’m up to speed I’d love to join you.
Cheers for that Sass. Would love to see your 78 Alpine once you have her fettled. I have a 1978 Alpine A310 with 1976 Group 5 style engine mods. It’s new to me and I’m working it up after very light use for the last 20 years. Once it’s running well and I’m up to speed I’d love to join you.
I think plan would be to meet at the cafe 7am, do the run which is Clare, Sible Hedingham, Finchingfield , Steeple Bumstead and back to cafe for breakfast/coffee
Cheers
Hi Matt
Welcome and enjoy your test drive. Funnily enough my previous car was a manual M2 Competition and I had a Cayman S in 2007. M2 a great car, very quick and still practical. Would I swap my Alpine back for an M2 or a Cayman? No way. The Alpine is a very different car to drive because of the lightness and feel. You'll know within 5 minutes of driving it. Nothing else like except perhaps a Lotus Elise/Exige but the Alpine is more roomy and better made.
Have fun!

The Cayman is a nice car, well built and the internal finish is top class. It does however weigh 350kg more than the A110 so it needs more power, bigger tyres and stiffer suspension to deal with the equivalent of a grand piano on top of an Alpine. It's the lightness and ride quality with fun factor of the Alpine that convinced me. You'll know when you drive it...
So Bradley (John Banks Alpine Cambridge) is arranging a meet/event on Sunday 28th May for a drive out convoy then back to the showroom for food and drink, driving sims, casino and watch the Monaco GP. An Alpine F1 car will be there too. Hopefully you are all on the John Banks Whats App group to know about this. Those that aren't I suggest you contact Bradley at John Banks and see if you can get added.
See you on the 28th!
