If you trawl through PH you will find conflicting views. Some of us feel that Focal Premium is a BACKward step. Bass IS more extended (as you might expect) but not as clean, by some margin. It is also impossible to make fiddle with the settings to get it to sound the same as the standard Focal system. I would certainly recommend you took some music you are fairly familiar with and do a comparison if you are considering spending the extra.TX.

I don't want to be Debbie downer but I think they missed with the A110R.
Nobody can get past that the engine and gearbox has not changed. Nor should they.
You cannot make a GT Porsche out of tuner parts from a stock base model Porsche, but you can make an equal or more capable "home-brew A110R" from An A110 pure, and for less money..

Hmm…equals the performance of the pdk GT4 and is .5 of a second quicker than the GT4 manual but needs more power according to evo. I hope to see track times at some stage.https://www.evo.co.uk/alpine/205646/alpine-a110-r-...

I think I understand what they're getting at. My Evora was a fast car (best ever standing start saw 3.9s to 60) but the chassis was crying out for 500bhp, not 400bhp.Times is more balanced reporting
It wouldn't surprise me if, by massively improving the chassis via the dampers, Alpine have only highlighted that the engine is merely okay. Obviously it's more than adequate, but maybe at this price point EVO feel that's not enough?
I'm having dreams of a 4 Piston Racing Honda K24 in the back of the A110, 350bhp+ at 9k rpm. What a monumental thing that would be.
I am waiting for track times given the Trophy R has the same engine but is about 225-250kg heavier yet still posted a 7:40 time at the Green Hell.
TX.
Edit - I got to ride with a Pro driver in an A110 at Llandow in the pissing rain. The speed that the chap carried through the corners was mind bending which for me is the key to the A110 generally vs straight line pace from zero.

you can re-create some elements of it but not the same. Think if you consider the aerokit not useful and carbon wheels overkill then you are mostly there i think with aftermarket support.Nobody can get past that the engine and gearbox has not changed. Nor should they.

one for the fanboys i guess. of which i include myself.
think they should have turned up the wick a bit more like 20Hp. Would make it a much easier sell.
I'm sure they would have done if France wasn't their biggest market. It would be classic lotus elise strategy and that makes sense

I sort-of agree - but since all of this year's production is already spoken for, perhaps they didn't need to. Would have probably been difficult without a bigger turbo and a raised rev limit. Otherwise they would have had to raise the torque figure, which they might have been reluctant to do on a model that they know will be regularly be tracked.think they should have turned up the wick a bit more like 20Hp. Would make it a much easier sell.

Glad to see I'm not alone in disliking the unpainted bonnet. I spent a weekend on the configurator and just couldn't get along with any of the colours, particularly the matte/frozen blue. The mix of gloss black, gloss carbon and then colour (especially frozen) was too much for me. So I've gone with black, yellow callipers, storage pack and focal premium. Should arrive this year but thats as much as I know so far.
Saw the black in this video and thought it looked great https://www.youtube.com/shorts/yUGaSR6bwmo

Black hides the carbon for sure. That makes 4 of us I think on here who have taken the leap of faith!Saw the black in this video and thought it looked great https://www.youtube.com/shorts/yUGaSR6bwmo

The CO2 tax over there forced them to keep the engine etc the same. Life or Litcho will remap them though I guess if anyone craves more power.

That's the key thing that a lot of folks complaining about the power thing are missing. The price of one these in France is WAY less than the Porsche they are so often compared to because of the French taxation system, and that's the most important market for Alpine, so is the one they set it all up for.TX.
