delays on carbon fibre parts. Mine is built but awaiting carbon aero and pushed back to November/December.

I think the parts suppliers are surprised by the demand especially in continental europe. 2024 may be the last year of production as mandatory lane asisst and other regs come into play

Still super rare in the UK. I barely see any Alpines full stop let alone R's.

That looks FAST.

And I utterly love it with the body colour rear hatch. 7:19 is a seriously fast time. I reckon it's still on 18s? But maybe not.

Bringing this back to life, took the car to Spires. Got it dropped by the other 10mm and sorted the geo for fast road / track.

So with great disappointment I have rejected my A110R. I went to inspect the car on Wed 8th November with a view to taking delivery on Fri 10th Nov. The car was still in its wrapping from the factory.

It was unveiled and at first looked fantastic. However, I noticed a paint defect on the top of the OSF wing. Presumably it left the factory like this. Either way, I rejected the car and requested a new car be built. After 5 weeks, the dealer called me to offer £1,250 discount and a repair carried out by the dealers painter. They had already mentioned a "smart repair" when I first saw the defect! Alpine have said that they are unable to build a new factory car in this Atelier colour.

I have rejected the offer and requested my deposit to be returned. I am very sad as I sold my A110 Tour De Corse in the summer in anticipation of receiving the A110R. Now I have neither.

Customer service from both Alpine UK and the dealer has been dreadful.

What a shame. Can you name the dealer?

That’s a shame..

Getting a new build isn’t easy at all and carbon wheels and parts appear to be of limited supply. Too bad you are giving it up. Frustration must be immense.

That's a shame, I saw this car sitting in the dealership when I picked up my car.

I feel your pain, my purchase of a used A110 has also been far from plain sailing from the same dealer rolleyes

Sorry to see but well spotted, I hope you find another one you like if you're set on not accepting this one.

I know there's a few San Remos in the UK currently, probably my favorite special edition run.

Is it not something that could be machine polished out? I wouldn't be happy myself and it's hard to understand how that got through QA at the factory but I wouldn't cut off my nose to spite my face.

Absolutely not. That’s a fubar snafu clusterf**k and how the heck it got past qc wherever it was done only the crazy clown that spot “repaired” it knows!

It might be possible to just strip the bumper off, side indicator out, headlamp out, and then flat the wing back, basecoat the top section and then clear over the lot. That’s the best case scenario and I would wager you’ll not get it right.

So the door card will have to come off, mirror, side window trims and door handle. Then paint base on the whole wing, blend into the bumper and the door, and then re clear the door, wing and bumper. That’s the worst case scenario.

And of course, you’ll be wanting a) the right paint thickness, b) a factory look to the clear, and c) an intelligent and careful strip down and rebuild with no broken clips, chewed trim etc. in my extensive experience with this stuff, a) almost no chance, b) almost no chance and c) almost no chance.

There will of course be dissent to my post from “people who have used xyz bodyshop successfully” but whilst that might be ok on a normal road car I would not buy a super special car like this and then hand it over to that industry. People do exist who can do it, but Renault won’t be paying to use them and they won’t give you enough money off so that you can, because 9/10 owners wouldn’t notice the subsequent repair is actually rubbish.

Dilemma time,
Cancelled my A110R in august, dealer kept it on order to sell on themselves ,
Have cleared finance on my Legende which I have owned since 2020 ( new)
Currently have the dealer ‘pursuing’ me to see if I want my original order , which is obvs the car that fits my spec as I ordered it, I also have 4 other a110R’s being offered to me , no discounts yet, but clearly not selling, ECOTY sings it’s praises very highly,

I’d dearly love to go ahead , however
I have a car that’s paid for sat in my garage with 15,000 miles on the clock , owned from new so I know it well.
If I swap to the R it’s going to cost me my car plus 50k (financed) , I could do an awful lot to mine for half the difference (25k) I’m struggling to make the maths work to purchase the R
Can someone convince me the R is worth the 50k to change ?

I can tell you that a friend bought a brand new R for less than £90k recently
