not mad, for new builds inflation is a problem, for used demand is weaker so depreciation might be higher but the car is unique in so many ways. whether or not you can justify it truly depends on use case. If you don't track, I'd think it is completely overkill and potentially a bad buy given the price difference of 40k between base and this (or 20k for an S model).

On the other hand, upgrading an S to the same spec will not be cheaper. Could be more cheaply done (without carbon wheels) but not necessarily better nor special.

Anyways, what colour did you splurge on?

Intended as a daily ish however I don't do many miles + have access to some other cars too. Will be on track with it yes.

French blue as not keen on any "frozen" colours.

I am being chased to set my R Spec and I am being told that if I don't spec it now then I will get hit with a 5% price increase wef 1st January. Anyone else being told the same?

I have only just taken delivery of my A110 Tour De Corse 75 so I am not sure I want two Alpine's by April or whenever the R will arrive.

Colour wise I am thinking of Fire Orange.

Edit - I was told the frozen blue ones being made first then all other colours to follow back end of 23 if you can get a 23 allocation.

I had heard the same about the Blue coming first and then the other colours.

I have a 2023 allocation and to be honest I don't want it too early in the year.

Standard motor industry order form & contract bases price on list at time of delivery - you might want some form of additional comfort that that does not apply

I spec mine within a week of the pricing being set. should be a 23 car after the frozen blues.

I've pulled my order. I'm sad about it, but there are a couple of things that I don't like about it, namely the carbon bonnet (I would prefer it painted) and that gross white strip around the wheels.

I know, they're minor things, but when I'm paying double the base price I'd prefer if it was just so. I'll put the money towards more mods on my green one.

yes and i was thinking of changing the colour to FREE black so i don't have to put up with black wheels and that carbon half painted bonnet

BUT I would end up having to PPF the entire car to avoid swirls instead of the track PPF which would have eliminated the savings....

Could the bonnet not just be painted to the same colour as the car?

I would rather the bonnet be the same colour as the car as its less standout then. Like what Alfa do with the Giulia.

I'm 100% with you (and Alex) on this, although I'd bet big money it's simply because getting plastics to be the same colour as metals is a much bigger PITA (in a production scenario) than you might imagine. A number of the original Atelier options were quietly deleted because of this, and despite the R being a big ticket item I wouldn't be surprised if nobody in Dieppe wants to find out if it happens on CF panels too.

If I was dead set on it I might consider getting the bonnet sprayed elsewhere, or even wrapped in body colour - as a sort of substitute for PPF on that panel. Understandable that many might feel they shouldn't have to, however.

If you trawl through PH you will find conflicting views. Some of us feel that Focal Premium is a BACKward step. Bass IS more extended (as you might expect) but not as clean, by some margin. It is also impossible to make fiddle with the settings to get it to sound the same as the standard Focal system. I would certainly recommend you took some music you are fairly familiar with and do a comparison if you are considering spending the extra.
