Thanks for the various responses on the sport exhaust. I think the only logical conclusion is that it’s Marmite!

True - you just got to listen for yourself and decide whether you like it or not - and try to whether the sound actor appeals or not (regardless of whether the exhaust itself does).

Oh and this is one I forgot.........On my second outing -still all very nervous and excited-I "discovered" the parking brake button is in similar position to the window ones.
Not happened since!!!
Glad its not just me! I did this on my test drive last week. Very embarrassing!
Me too, quite alarming.
I also did this last week on a test drive, right-handed drivers in RHD drive cars must find it difficult. I think most modern system disable the electronic park brakes when driving though.

OK, so had it nearly a fortnight now.

Not issues per-se, but things I'd have done differently:
- No shortcuts on the gearbox. I keep pulling the "+" lever expecting it to go into drive
- All the electrics turn off as soon as you open the door. Usually this can be undone by pushing the start button without the brake pedal, but that doesn't work in the Alpine which means you cannot wind the window up unless you restart the car
- I like the other changes, but could the speedo and tac in sports mode not just be slightly smaller versions of the standard ones. The simplified graphics are naf.
- Radio reception FM/DAB (latest Alpine ICE) is very poor. Forever dropping out where none of our other cars do.

I often see comments about the low speed ride... I've only had my Base A110 on 18" Seracs for two weeks, but feel it is just as comfortable as (but feels quite different to) Mrs T's Polo. Was the Legende different in some way?

My thing to know is that the 'safety kit' (which is both big and heavy for such a light car!) fits much better in the front boot than the rear. Indeed it seems to almost double the space in the rear boot subjectively, I think because its a regularly shaped pack in such an irregularly shaped boot.
I have squeezed most of the safety kit and other boot bits into the tyre pump bag. This just leaves the long first aid kit which has velcro on it so can go anywhere. Just frees up a bit more space than that large rectangular safety bag thing.

Couldn't agree more with the final comment on radio reception - really very irritating the way it drops in and out on both FM and DAB in places you know for sure other cars don't.

Wonder if it's an aerial placement issue causing some interference in the car? Has there ever been a comment from Alpine about it?

I believe the poor radio reception is due to the aluminium body reflecting away the radio signal rather than conducting it in the way steel would.

I look forward to being corrected by somebody who know even a thimble of knowledge of physics or radio waves.
