Delivery Delay on my new Alpine
Discussion
Has anybody else still waiting for their car heard anything? I’ve still had the sum total of sweet FA from either the dealer (post Tim) or Alpine. I’ll give it until the end of May and then start thinking about a possible cancellation and deferral until next March. At this rate it could be a September delivery and I won’t get much use out of it over the Autumn and Winter. They might even have bits of carbon back in stock by then! I hear A110R owners are having to wait even longer, potentially related to Carbon wheel availability.

I spoke to Ryan (in Manchester) and he wasn't able to give me an update. Edited by Stuey110x2 on Wednesday 3rd May 21:25
Many years ago I worked in logistics and know that as soon as an "item" is scanned into the system it is traceable..... so WHY don't they know where the car is and what stage in the process its at?
And importantly what, if any, work does it need.... and when can I expect delivery? FFS

Seems Alpine themselves have no idea when the cars might be ready, which implies they may be reliant on a third party somewhere along the line that cannot commit to a timescale to allow them to feedback to the customer. Many years ago I worked in logistics and know that as soon as an "item" is scanned into the system it is traceable..... so WHY don't they know where the car is and what stage in the process its at?

I believe Solihull are also down 3 demonstrators that are stuck in the same situation... they don't appear to know any more than us at the moment.
I've received info that my A110 can be (again, as it used to by at my dealership but was sent back to the factory) picked up. It was total over 4 months of delay as it was build at the beginning of February.
Alpine didn't offer me anything and didn't give any official info, it's just like "oh yeah it's arrived delayed by 4 months but you should be happy we're going to still sell it to you" so I'm thinking about cancelling my order though. It's not about their attitude but I'm also concerned about quality of that specific car (unknown storage condition, unknown repairs that have been done, unknown damage that has been done during those procedures and so on), such rebuild and delay seems like a huge lack of competence. I'm a bit afraid I'm going to pay full price for something that might spend another 4 months waiting for fuel pump replacement or something like that.
I think I'm going to wait for others to pick their cars and wait for feedback if they are any good.

I understand, I'm not sure how much longer I am willing to wait and I'd like to see a goodwill gesture (or more) from Alpine for this mess.... I am one of those affected by the delivery delay. I ordered my car in August last year at Martins in Winchester. I asked for a March 2023 delivery and was kept informed about the order by Adam. I was informed that the car was built and in Portbury on the 7th of Feb so was looking forward to an early March collection. I then got the Alpine email to tell me that my car was on hold and subsequently that it needed to go back to the factory. In mid March I was told that my car was still in Portbury and not expected back in Dieppe until mid April. I got an update from Martins yesterday to say that they had still not heard anything about my car.
This describes how I have been looked after by the factory. In mid March I thought the dream of owning an Alpine was over as I wasn't happy with what had happened. I popped in to Martins and spoke with James and Adam. Both were extremely understanding about my disappointment and unbeknown to me had come up with a plan. They changed one of their stock orders to match mine so that I knew that a car to my spec would be ready at the latest in early June. They also provided me with a brand new demonstrator until my car was ready. That to me is excellent customer service and as a result I am now driving and A110 and know that in 6 weeks I will be in my own car. I can't recommend James and Adam more highly. I understand the gap that exists between the factory and the customer, the dealers have to manage this and Martins have exceeded my expectations a situation that was beyond their control.

That’s great to hear. My car was built early April and is now in the UK two weeks ago. Now awaiting alarm/locking wheel nuts and transportation to Martins in Winchester. Hoping it’ll be with me by the end of the month (also having Könings do PPF/ceramic before I receive it). This describes how I have been looked after by the factory. I’ve had great support from Adam and James myself, having changed specs twice since ordering in November. No complaints from the guys, just 1st class service.

So hopefully a bit of positive news from the dealer today... The work to my car has now been completed and it is making its way back to the UK import centre. Timings to be confirmed but sounds promising!
I heard that mine needs the work BUT no delivery date or confirmation the work was even done..... FFSStuey110x2 said:

Glad to hear it! Mind you, nobody has given me a date yet… early June still feels ‘hopeful’. I’ve been advised that should I cancel and reorder that it will cost an additional £3000 as my current order is price protected against recent rises. Some positive news from the dealer for me too...

I'm really hoping that I'll get a further update this week. My car should be leaving France today.I think the dealers have a Friday Teams meeting with Alpine UK.
Just casually looking at Which?

"An alarmingly high 58% of Alpine A110 owners had at least one problem that needed a professional fix in the year covered by our latest reliability survey. Owners also said their car spent an average of 12 days off the road over the year, with 52% experiencing their car break down."

So how many contributed to the Which survey, for what is a very low volume car?
I've had faults on my car, by the way but that will not dull the enjoyment of having something very special.
