......58%of respondents I guess?Quote

So how many contributed to the Which survey, for what is a very low volume car?
I've had faults on my car, by the way but that will not dull the enjoyment of having something very special.

I'm really hoping that I'll get a further update this week. My car should be leaving France today.
I think the dealers have a Friday Teams meeting with Alpine UK.
Have you heard anything further? There are rumblings mine might actually be in Solihull by the end of the week but I've been told not to get too excited until they can actually see it!I think the dealers have a Friday Teams meeting with Alpine UK.

Ryan messaged me to say the cars were on a boat to the UK and making there way to Bristol. That was on Friday last week, I'm hoping he will have a delivery date after this Friday.... hoping.
Where dealership is your car going to?

It will be Holdcroft Solihull. I've asked if they can deliver the car to the detailer/ceramic coating guy nearer me (40mins up the road) as a gesture of goodwill! Was hopeful that it would turn up tomorrow... but doesn't look like it.

No…. same old “It has left the factory and is on its way”. They still have no idea but are now letting me know that they have no idea approx. every two days…Just ridiculous. I do have a registration number now though!

Latest news from the dealer (who are happy to throw Alpine UK under the bus at every opportunity) is that they are now having logistical issues getting the cars out of Portbury and can’t give a date as to when that will change. Apparently the Midlands (Alpine Solihull) is in the ‘amber’ delivery zone… when I asked where the green zone was I was told that only Bristol was in the green zone so basically Portbury. Having ordered the car last August for a March 2023 delivery, my sense of excitement has now very much withered at the prospect of receiving a car that was originally built and delivered to the UK import in January/February sometime between July and September. Numerous subsequent false hopes and ultimately a manufacturer that doesn’t appear to care very much about its (repeat) customers has done nothing to lift my spirits in that regard. I’d add that the price has also gone up £5k since I ordered mine so will be speaking to Alpine to see if they will honour that for March 2024 delivery instead. Who knows, they may have installed a head unit/digital screen that doesn’t look like it was made by fisher price by then!

I posted this in the Dacia thread but if anyone needs to escalate to Renault customer services, this is the email of one of the senior guys who has helped me in the past - wasim.choudary-extern@renault.co.uk
Just in case you want to try and get a quicker result.

I also ordered last August for March 2023 delivery. My car arrived at Winchester last week although it had been in Portbury for ages. I paid the outstanding balance yesterday, same total as agreed back in August. Hope your car comes soon, the frustration when you know your car is in the UK but not at the dealers is the worst.

I finally got my car on the 23rd June and although I'm annoyed about the delay I'm loving the car.Having ordered the car last August for a March 2023 delivery, my sense of excitement has now very much withered at the prospect of receiving a car that was originally built and delivered to the UK import in January/February sometime between July and September. I can confirm I got a letter on delivery, with no detail of the work done, but confirming an extra year of warranty.
Hope you get yours soon mate.

Pleased for you! Glad you got your’s sorted. Did the additional warranty come through the dealer or Alpine UK? All I’ve been potentially offered so far is a couple of services… which dealer did you use by the way? Like to know how hard mine are actually trying….

I got my car from Ryan at the Salford dealership. Like to know how hard mine are actually trying….
The extra year is mentioned in the letter I got which was from the delaership.
My trials continue.
Having now had the opportunity to speak to Wasim and his colleague Frankie at Alpine UK Customer services it is clear that communication lines between manufacturer and its dealer network are, charitably speaking, unreliable. As previous post, the last I heard was that the car had returned to Portbury but was now stuck there due to logistical issues (despite other cars suffering from the same original recall being delivered up and down the country… I smelt a rat!). This was the information Solihull were given according to Customer Services. However, they have now confessed that in truth the car never made it back to Bristol at all and is actually still in Dieppe. The reason? During the period between it last being delivered to the UK and its subsequent safety recall back to France, someone has managed to damage one of the alloy wheels. These are the GP style alloys, which appear to be in short supply and apparently they are unable to tell me when a replacement will be available. I give up.
