Thoughts on replacing the Legende Comfort seats?

I understand the seats are not available to order.
One of the posters on here was, I recall, changing from comfort to bucket and, in the end, had to source two seats , one at a time, from eBay- bought two passenger seats that people had removed from track cars.
Well that puts the kibosh on my idea. Thanks for the heads-up.One of the posters on here was, I recall, changing from comfort to bucket and, in the end, had to source two seats , one at a time, from eBay- bought two passenger seats that people had removed from track cars.
Keep an eye on Alpine Salford. Ryan there specs up their cars nicely and with most of the bits you want. Ive just got a new one from him with the bits you're wanting except the bin. I sat in a GT with the bin which just felt like a useless add on, in the way next to your left shoulder and doubtful you could actually make use of it on the move. Ive never really carried a lot of in cabin junk in my cars, Ive a Lotus Elise which ive managed with for 11 years with about the same level of cabin storage. You can get a decent sized water bottle at the side of the bucket seats, in fact there is quite a bit of space at the side of the seats and behind.
The sports exhaust is really quite tame, most of the noise is from the soundaktor apart from the overrun pops of which you generally only get about 3 and half.
The comfort seats for me felt too hard, too flat and too wide

The other downside of the storage bin is that it restricts access to the area behind the seats. I can get an aircraft carry on bag there (I'm short) - but it would almost certainly be impossible with the storage bin in the way. The "door" pockets from Alpine next to the bucket seats are a much cheaper and imo better option. worldwidewebs said:
Storage pack is very rare as it was so expensive for a rubbish 'bin' between the seats. If you want it, just buy it from the parts dept. Alu pedals can be bought from parts dept too. Sports exhaust - just be aware it comes with lots of pops and bangs in sports mode. You may love that or you may hate it. Personally, and I have the sports exhaust, I'd get one with the normal exhaust and get a Milltek from Life110 if you really must have more noise
Indeed The storage bin is a factory fit option: it is held in place by a couple of studs that don't get fitted to 'non-storage' cars. As a Legende owner who suffers with the seats in most cars, I'd not dismiss the comfort seats out of hand; but I also understand that if you are spending an Alpine-sized chunk of cash, you want things just right...

This is going to be trickier than I thought.I don't like leather seats in any car, never have. And I particularly like the buckets in the Alpine. They 'seem' to be the most comfortable after a short test drive, but only a long journey will really tell.
From what I've read, the 'comfort' seat is less comfortable than the bucket; go figure!

I'm not keen on full leather seats either, but they sit lower than the buckets unfortunately and it doesn't seem the buckets can go any lower.
If you're well over 6" the 'comfort' seats really make a noticeable difference.
Could you clarify a little bit on what you mean by noticeable difference? In what sense? If you're well over 6" the 'comfort' seats really make a noticeable difference.
I'm 191 cm and have the Sabelt bucket seats on my A110. I like the driving position fine and I have no problems with headroom either. My driver seat is in the lowest position and I don't feel the need to get it any lower. I haven't driven an A110 with the comfort leather seats so can't really comment on the differences between those two different type of seats.

I'm 5'11" (180cm) and didn't find an issue with either the bucket of leather seats in the showroom cars.If you're well over 6" the 'comfort' seats really make a noticeable difference.
aea730's comment about the comfort seat being too hard, too flat, and too wide is a concern though.

I can attest to this being 193cm (6'4"). I wanted the bucket seats more, but every time I sat in the comfort seats I just got more of a "that's better" feeling. This was true even with the bucket seats in the lowest setting. It's not much, we're talking maybe 1cm or so lower, but when your head is almost grazing the roof it makes all the difference. In the end I came to terms with the comfort seats being better for me.If you're well over 6" the 'comfort' seats really make a noticeable difference.
I’m around 6ft and checked out a few cars with the standard buckets and at the lowest height. Just simply too high and would have been constantly dipping my head to see.
Comfort seats were the only option for me, but I find them very comfortable and “secure” anyway, perhaps a little wider but feel quite similar to the Recaro Sportsters in my S1 Evora which are an excellent road seat. The Sparcos in my Evora 400 were much harder and less secure than either but still good seats.
I must confess I don’t get the comments about them being too wide or uncomfortable, I think people just need to try them. Then again I didn’t really try out the standard buckets for comfort as it just wasn’t going to work for me.

The bucket seats I feel are actually just fine. It's just when I sit in the adjustable seats afterwards, that little drop in height makes the position perfect, my line of vision feels more in centre of the windscreen and the doors envelope me more so I feel more cucooned, it just feels right.I'm 191 cm and have the Sabelt bucket seats on my A110. It's weird as the buckets in the lowest sitting are decked yet the the adjustable seats sit lower with a whole lowering frame underneath them. I'm guessing they ironically have less padding in the cushion to compensate or it's the shape of the shell.
I haven't actually test driven a car with the comfort seats but the backrest seems it could be just as supportive and they felt easier to get in and out of for a daily car, they're also easier to fit larger friends in the car too to take them for a drive. I think they will age better with time as well, I've seen quite a bit of wear and scratches on buckets from people getting in and out rubbing aginast the bolsters or from catching clothing on them.

Don't be in too much of hurry to close the thread, just let us know how you get on with the new car in practice, especially the comfort seats.
It occurred to me that it wouldn't be a hugely difficult job to strip off the cover and judiciously place foam into the seat base, back and sides to suit your stature. You can then make it narrower if required, which I fancy is the main problem with comfort seats, although I find them perfect, but then I am only 5'7" and 80kgs, with long legs and a short back, so not too large.
In virtually all my cars I have altered the drivers seat somewhere, either making it lower, higher or with a more raked squab, so don't be afraid to experiment.

I could be wrong on this, but I think the Life110 Milltek exhaust is an upgrade from the factory sports exhaust (because it uses the valve control motor) & is not an upgrade from the basic exhaust. Also you need to consider that Life110 announced the R53 suspension upgrade in 2021 & you still can't order it, so who knows when you might be able to buy the recently announced exhaust upgrade?

Not sure what happened/is happening with the R53. I know they were close but were still being fine tuned. Maybe David's time was better spent on the AST ones which will be cheaper, sell more and therefore lead to better income. You could ask him if they are something you are interested in. FWIW, I'm going with the AST dampers which are due to be available by end of August, possibly sooner
That's good to know the Milltek's are being shipped, but I don't think I'll be getting one, because my car has the standard exhaust & I don't think I can upgrage to the Milltek unless I'm starting from the factory sports exhaust. I'm considering the K-Tec non-valved catback sytem, which seems like fair value at less than £700. I'm a little concerned this will make me unpopular with the neighbours, as I often get home late, & it has no off switch. I need to do something, because the standard exhaust is so quiet, I can't always hear it above the radio, & hearing what the engine's doing would make it easier to drive the car well.
As for the R53, I was very much looking forward to ordering this after I'd put a couple of hundred miles on my car, but I've bought another car since the Alpine, which means my enthusiasm & car modification budget are now being shared between the two cars, so I expect I will go with the AST if it's going to be available soon.
