Paint code for Fuchs wheels

Hi All

I've annoyingly kerbed my original Fuchs silver wheels and was going to have a go at repairing myself. Does anyone know a paint code or even a paint colour match? You can obviously buy a standard silver, aluminium, steel etc. finish but not totally convinced the final colour will match.

I'm only attempting a v small area , maybe 5cm along the outer rim initially to see how it goes.

Just received this back from Alpine customer contact:

we would like to inform you the only code we have for silver wheels is the ixell code 805008.
We recomend you to contact your Alpine Service Center as well in order to check the information with it.

Well, it is probably worth getting a small tin or aerosol to check?

I have emailed Otto Fuchs AG, but they will not release the paint, identification code number.
Extract from their reply..............

"Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with any information on this, as this is only available for internal use.
Therefore, we normally recommend having the paintwork measured in a paint shop.
We hope that this has been of some help to you and we are happy to answer any further questions you may have."

Looks like going to a reputable wheel refurbishers, with paint scanning devices (eg: Lepsons) may be the best (only) option.

Hi so I can confirm that my go at matching paint close enough with Simoniz Silver and then Steel didn't quite match. One too light, other too dark and also original had a sparkle element in it's paint.

Anyway, I sanded down, prepped for paints and did a full 4 wheel repaint in the end finished with clear lacquer coat.

If you don't mind a slight colour difference and have a spare 8 hours or more then it's not so difficult. Just lots of patience, being methodical and care.
