Which PH'ers have placed a deposit on an Emira?
Discussion
Thanks.
By way of coincidence I have just had an update. I put the deposit in on the 7th July at 5pm and had been going for a v6. I changed to i4 over the last couple of months and was told that there was a commitment to deliver 120 or so i4s this year and I was in that group. So to the update...
"Unfortunately, shortages across the automotive industry have led to some delays in production, but we are happy to inform you that your new Emira is now scheduled to be completed in November 2022. We estimate the handover of your Emira will be in December. We appreciate this is later than originally predicted, so please accept our sincere apologies for the slight delay."
Very happy with that, but expecting more delays anyway!

The delays were inevitable as all other manufacturers are affected so why would Lotus be immune despite many claiming they magically wouldnt be lol.
Thats why some time back I deferred my Sept 22 car until Spring 2023 which is probably when it would have arrived anyway with all the delays. This has secured my place as a July 2021 depositor and given me flexibility on exact model types and spec following proper road tests on the cars this year.

Slight delays are one thing. Not being honest about it at time of placing an order is a different thing.
Referring to a six month delay as "slight" is an entirely different thing, especially as it is the second six month delay.
Neither apologising nor giving an explanation in the first email you've had from them that wasn't trying to sell you finance in january could very well be the final thing.

Suspect that there might be a large group of people tempted by this car who aren't habitual buyers of new sports cars and aren't used to this sort of thing - and who are going to be a lot less sanguine about the delays than you are. Not if they have tried to order any new car in the last 12 monthsblueg33 said:

Not if they have tried to order any new car in the last 12 monthsReceived the same email today (i.e. we'll tell you in early 2023 when you will receive your i4) and I placed my order on 11th July. But I had exchanged emails with customer care a couple of days ago and so knew I could potentially get my Emira earlier if I swopped back to a V6. I've decided to go with my heart, rather than my brain, and placed my second deposit for a Magma Red V6 manual (lower black pack, diamond cut wheels, black calipers, alcantara with red stitching).

Mind me asking when did you put deposit down? Thought I was pretty early but the 'we will contact you in 2023' thing threw me today.

I got an email today to say my i4 FE is due for build in November with delivery in December
Same email yesterday for me. Complete Nov 22 for delivery Dec 22. i4 FE. Deposit placed 00:15 on 7th July. Good to think this could be one of the first 120 i4s.

Nice, but I'd like to see an i4 before I see a GT4...J210 said:

Presumably it's just saying a delay of one month. Not sure how it's confusing?
Both emails said built in August. So I guess it’s less then a month delay. I full expect it to be pushed back further mind you For me, it went 'September delivery' to 'August delivery', then to August completion with September delivery again.
