Which PH'ers have placed a deposit on an Emira?

A review from someone who placed a deposit.
Thanks for posting Alex I enjoyed that.Would agree with most of their comments particularly on the excellent engine sound track despite low rev cut off also hydraulic steering and involving shortish gearing although it was surprising they didn't mention in contrast the long gearing hindering the GTS Cayman as a road car.
Not sure whether the Emira is actually more 'playful' than the equivalent Cayman i.e. GTS tbh.
That Canyon Road has great bends is a super smooth surface and was bone dry so its no surprise they said the car was perfectly suited specced with Pilot Cups and sport suspension. Different story of course for typical potholed and damp UK roads and if the car is used as a daily especially in sub 7 degree temps when the Cups are not ideal.

if you mean one of the demo Emiras sh@tting itself it was because on a test drive with very few miles on the clock the test pilot (potential customer) dropped it from 5th to 2nd as far as I understand it ....
Over revving the engine in 2nd beyond the red line to the extent it caused damage or broke the engine would probably require a downchange at something like 80mph...Lotus top notch communication strikes again!
Spoke to them a week or so ago to re confirm that I was still a 2024 delivery and would be affected by the price increase. This was confirmed.
Started getting emails telling me to spec my car, I had done this early last year so I thought it was a generic email.
Get one last night telling me to spec my car for June delivery? This is very confusing considering that would be a roughly 8 month improvement in a week.
Called this morning to see what is going on to be told if I had done it last night I would have had a June delivery but now im looking at next batch in August time.
The price increase would have applied one way or another.
Good news is sounds likes cars are now coming through at a reasonable rate bringing everything forward or they have lost an absolute ton of orders over this price increase.
Meanwhile I still don't know if I even want it.

Crazy hearing this from everyone who has a deposit, even the guy in the YouTube video I linked yesterday. As everyone seems to be of the opinion of: reviews are mixed, Lotus have annoyed them and also those on the market at face-value aren't selling.
The reason for the mixed messages on delivery could be due to so many cancellations.

Must admit, the process did give me the hump and I did have a wobble before I confirmed the order but I'm glad I stuck it out, the car is mega.As everyone seems to be of the opinion of: reviews are mixed, Lotus have annoyed them and also those on the market at face-value aren't selling.

I loved my Evoras and it's got pretty much all the best bits there with all the things that were wrong with it completely sorted
I'll be honest I think people are getting hung up on a few cancellations when the volume of cars being produced is alien to what you would associate with Lotus, certainly for the last 15-20 years.
I worked there in the late 00's and early 10's and subjectively it looked like there were two or three times the number of Emiras being churned out than there were all the other models put together at any point when I was there.

Asked for my deposit back today. Not excited enough about it to tolerate the continued waits and price increase. Genuinely hope everyone loves their cars though.
The fact there's so many on the market of various spec too, there's no point in being tied down as your chosen spec will almost certainly hit the used market at face value anyway.AlexNJ89 said:

Then my test drive was short and I only had one opportunity to exceed 40 and that was on a dual carriageway. So despite having driven it I still feel like I know nothing about it other than I like how it looks. The demo car was quite ropey as well.
Add in the delays etc just leads to a feeling of not being entirely sure about it.

I looked at that one when I was at Tom Hartley's last week. Not sure about the black wheels with Seneca (i think I am off black wheels full stop). Reminded me alot of my Evora
I think black wheels are due to go out of fashion, along with those popping exhausts and that nardo grey colour.AlexNJ89 said:
