Which PH'ers have placed a deposit on an Emira?
Discussion
Hi
Good to see I am not the only one going for Mercedes power after trying v6.
I paid a deposit but cannot recall there being a second fee. I cannot access my original contract right now to check. Also 6 days notice seems very short given expected delivery in November.
When is your’s due to be delivered (theoretically)?

I don't think it is decision time though as you can confirm your configuration and then decide to quite at checkout time when it is made if I have got that right.
I should be reasonably early in the first batch of i4s, but I have no idea when that is supposed to be. July? August? Just dunno!

Looking to lock my 4cyl spec - going with the Nimbus Grey but cant decide whether or not to go with the black roof.
I know its subjective, but any views on that?
Subjective, as you say, but I spec'd it on Nimbus myself as I preferred it 'with'.I know its subjective, but any views on that?
Also need to consider the finish of the tail pipes and "LOTUS" lettering on the rear as that's dependent on whether you go with the black pack or not, too.

I'm fairly sure I'm still not committed to buying it until it's built and I then do the checkout. Is that correct?
That's correct yes. Fully refundable deposits until you finally check out, even if the car is built and sat waiting.Once your car is configured by the cut off date you forfeit your right to a returned deposit.
If you think about it would be quite bizarre to have the right to cancel and refund your deposit once Lotus have built your car to your exact spec and understandably no other manufacturer offers this option either.

I think it is correct. The original terms were clear that putting a deposit down wasn't an order. There have been no superceding terms saying it's now an order.
Exactly. It's been very, very clear all along that until final checkout it's not actually an order.I have still decided to cancel my order - the challenge appear to be speaking to Lotus about it!

I think it was about 10 days later that I received 2 separate refunds of the £2k and £3k payments.
In all honesty, the cancellation was probably least painful bit in all my attempted comms with them. It was the appalling communication (and to be quite honest the seats which I really dislike) that nailed the coffin for me.
