Hi
Good to see I am not the only one going for Mercedes power after trying v6.
I paid a deposit but cannot recall there being a second fee. I cannot access my original contract right now to check. Also 6 days notice seems very short given expected delivery in November.
When is your’s due to be delivered (theoretically)?

Had the same email today. Time to get off the fence. Liklihood is pulling the deposit and going Mclaren or Ferrari F430 or later depending on bonus.

I’ve had the same email, so yes, it appears to be decision time

I don't think it is decision time though as you can confirm your configuration and then decide to quite at checkout time when it is made if I have got that right.

I should be reasonably early in the first batch of i4s, but I have no idea when that is supposed to be. July? August? Just dunno!

I'm fairly sure I'm still not committed to buying it until it's built and I then do the checkout. Is that correct?
That's correct yes. Fully refundable deposits until you finally check out, even if the car is built and sat waiting.

What does next stage mean? Doesn't the email say confirm your configuration? So there is only now to choose a different colour.

Looking to lock my 4cyl spec - going with the Nimbus Grey but cant decide whether or not to go with the black roof.
I know its subjective, but any views on that?

I like it, but not on the Nimbus (my favourite colour).

It breaks up the flow of the roof line too much. Plus it'll look permanently dirty in comparison to the Nimbus.

If after a while it bugs you then just a black roof wrap isn't too tricky, going the other way is.

Subjective, as you say, but I spec'd it on Nimbus myself as I preferred it 'with'.

Also need to consider the finish of the tail pipes and "LOTUS" lettering on the rear as that's dependent on whether you go with the black pack or not, too.

Incorrect.

Once your car is configured by the cut off date you forfeit your right to a returned deposit.

If you think about it would be quite bizarre to have the right to cancel and refund your deposit once Lotus have built your car to your exact spec and understandably no other manufacturer offers this option either.

Interesting the March 23 23 plate Seneca 500 mile Emira auctioned on Collecting Cars just finished at £78262 incl fees to the potential purchaser but remains unsold. Just under what the buyer must have paid pre price increase in March.

I think it is correct. The original terms were clear that putting a deposit down wasn't an order. There have been no superceding terms saying it's now an order.

It's 100% correct. I cancelled mine last month, I'd received the checkout emails and my car was ready to arrange collection/delivery.

Exactly. It's been very, very clear all along that until final checkout it's not actually an order.

Yup - I read the terms this morning on the link Lotus have sent me

I have still decided to cancel my order - the challenge appear to be speaking to Lotus about it!

I just emailed CS on the usual address with a very short "Please cancel my reservation and refund my deposits", with no other explanation or discussion, and eventually got a reply as per the screenshots I posted.

I think it was about 10 days later that I received 2 separate refunds of the £2k and £3k payments.

In all honesty, the cancellation was probably least painful bit in all my attempted comms with them. It was the appalling communication (and to be quite honest the seats which I really dislike) that nailed the coffin for me.
