the system is deposit to Lotus and held in Escrow
Are you sure? Escrow needs a third party plus agreements and I didn't see any of that.

And yes, deposit down from me too

Deposit paid. Looking for V6 manual, green, tan leather, kef upgrade. Now, how long do I have to wait?

Good point, I’m not 100% sure so shouldn’t have posted that. I was told it was but don’t have it confirmed from Lotus, will find out early next week.

Still nice that it’s not held be a dealer free to set any figure they like before they even know how many cars are available.

The Porsche forum has some interesting opinions on how much the Emira is related to the Evora

There was nothing wrong with the Evora chassis
... How much carry over in actual parts and design philosophy is there in generations of 911 and Boxster?

I know when you look under an e92, E46, E36 and even mini you can see similar shape parts and chassis design. Yes there will small differences in sizes but lots of fundamental designs and shapes are the same

Completely agree, looks like a whole new platform to me and as you say only praise regarding the Evora chassis

It won’t.

The Lotus MD has already confirmed that the Emira will be coupe only. The next open top Lotus will probably be their EV sports car.

Deposit placed this morning.

I'm thinking V6 manual, Nimbus, red interior, lightweight wheels, black pack.

Interestingly I was speaking to Shmee yesterday at Goodwood (before I discovered the quiet spoken amiable bloke that I was chatting to was some form of internet sensation), who reckoned there would be a spider and higher powered version out in due course. Seem sensible insight from a product development point of view.

And no he would not know more than the Lotus MD, but you can see why the Lotus MD would not be any rush to limit current demand!

Anyway, cool story bro’

I’m loving all the deposits going in, what fantastic news for Lotus. Having been brought up in Norfolk and lived in Norwich until recently I’ve a few friends who work there, from the 80’s and 90’s so hopefully this will be a great time.

I’m not bothered if I have to wait until the end of next year for mine, just keep churning them out!

Deposit paid too. Thinking Seneca blue V6 manual with black pack. With all the orders coming in expect it will be late 2022 or early 2023 delivery.

There’s bound to be a higher power V6 round the corner, they are already making 430 in the Evora and Exige, I’d love a Spyder, don’t think it will happen though.

Deposit down for me as well - although based in Abu Dhabi I understand there have been loads of deposits taken here and Dubai.

Green, manual, light weight wheels for me.

I understand we’ll be able to agree a final spec in September at which point the order will be firm and a build slot reserved.

I’ve only just bought a 410 Sport which I love.

Lotus MD Matt Windle said at Goodwood yesterday they would be looking at whether to add a second shift in 2022 given the strong demand and level of deposits being placed. Of course that's easy to say and no guarantee they'll do it, particularly while deposits are still refundable.

But you'd expect them to at least consider the scale up plans and then decide in light of confirmed orders when they start asking for those from Sept onwards.

From talking to the Lotus team there's clearly a very strong emphasis on getting the quality right with Emira. So I don't think they'll rush to add a second shift unless they're confident they can make it work from a quality standpoint.

Although I haven’t put my name down yet. It is making me so happy as fan of the company and a local boy to see Lotus so confidently squaring up to Porsche. I really hope this is a big success.

I really think they need a viral add campaign of Delia Smith screaming “LETS BE HAVIN YOU” at the new Porsche dealership in Norwich. wink

After 9 years with Porsche i'm turning to Hethel......

Not getting into OPC politics but there are many many reasons I've never bought any of my 4 Porsche's from one - two were from 911 Virgin (997 GTS & Cayman R) and 2 privately from first owners (GT4 and 981 Spyder). I've never enjoyed a single visit to an OPC, overpriced servicing costs, obnoxious & condescending staff, misplaced policies in new car placement etc etc so I can only hope Lotus will offer a breath of fresh air.

Deposit paid - if I can fit my 6ft4 frame inside the car I'm looking forward to 2022 and what will be my 1st brand new car!

V6 Manual
Hey Chris - deposit paid - she’s a looker !

V6 Manual is as far as I’ve got smile
Morning Richard

Likewise - V6 & manual 100%, initial thoughts are nimbus grey, black pack, black lightweight wheels, yellow calipers......but I also like the blue and the yellow (wife hates the yellow!)

Won't be sad to miss the Porsche politics

I put a deposit down last weds. I was tempted to do so Pre-launch and went to the dealer a few weeks ago to enquire but was talked out of it based on the fact they said not a limited run so no issue with getting a car if I ordered post reveal. Almost regretting that decision now with how mental it’s gone.
